At work yesterday when we heard the worst possible sound on the roof. Giant thuds. We all funneled to the entrance to witness the carnage of the golf balls falling from the sky. Every vehicle had some damage, many were totaled. My truck was not too bad, but fear it may get totaled due to its age. Only 86k on the clock, so, not even broken in yet. My estimate appointment is Monday, so, will see. Was planning to buff it this weekend. Sad. Ah well, just a truck. Cheers all!

If nothing else, someone needing a work truck will buy it off you for more than the insurance company will give you. That truck has a lot of life left.

Damn. I hate seeing this kind of stuff. Good to see you are taking it with proper perspective, and I hope it turns out well for you. Honestly, with less than 100k on the clock, I'd be for keeping it. That truck will run for years, even if she is a little beat up.

That really sucks, I hate seeing things like this but stuff happens. Seems you have a good attitude about it, most people would be livid. As others have said, buy it back, mod it, or just drive it as is. I once bought a Honda Accord that had hail damage, I bought it for a good price and low miles. I drove the crap out of it for the next 100K and sold it. The new owner was happy to have it and didn't complain one bit about the damage.

That sucks! I can tell you if they repair it that a new roof is 6 to 9 week wait time plus the install and prep and paint time. At least that is how long it took for mine 2 years ago. DO NOT TAKE IT TO WILLIAMS PAINT AND BODY here in the Springs.

In 2011 a massive hail storm hit our city and destroyed my wife's(then girlfriend) 2002 Corolla. I bought it back from insurance for around $1,100 and drive it for another 7 years. The hail damage didn't bother me and we named her Hailey. Mechanically the vehicle was fine. It's one of the better financial decisions I've ever made.

The hail actually chipped the paint in places so the only thing I did over the years was hit those spots with touch up paint so they wouldn't rust. If they do total it I would keep the truck.

Think it was 2009 i had similar damage on my 03 Silverado with 180K miles.
No windshield damage though, just about every body panel had giant dents all over it
    especially the hood and roof..

Took it in for my appointment and the adjuster(s) looked at it and promptly printed me a check for 7K.
When she tried to hand me the check and papers for me to sign and I declined, they were shocked...

Told them I would gladly take it to my body shop for repairs since they did not Total it. Said I wanted it fixed !
The look on her face was priceless.

After two months in the shop and a brief "come to Jesus" meeting, about the cost of the rental car they provided, my truck was fixed.
Paintless dent repair alone was over $4000.00 - total cost was little over $8K

We haven’t had anything really. The last bad storm that damaged everyone’s vehicles was the Tundra party at my house.

Sorry to see that. I see no broken glass. It's just quite possible it won't be totaled. My 07 was badly rearended a couple years ago. Insurance paid $8K to fix it. Had around 90k miles at the time.

Edit: I do see broken windshield.

Sure is. But still think a good chance it's not totalled. CO has unfortunately some very experienced hail repair shops but as mentioned a long wait. Long.

It may not get totaled. The hail damage on our Corolla was FAR worse than what I'm able to see in these pictures. It literally looked like a golf ball.

It most of it can be done with dry ice or paint less dent repair but its labor intensive.

Pretty much everyone did. Anthony, Sean, myself, & Jose.

Only one that didn’t was my friend that brought his Shelby Mustang that we shoved in the garage since my Jeep doesn’t have a straight body panel.
