Infernos are rare. As are those of us who appreciate 'em. I'm grateful there was one waiting for him!

Been quiet all weekend, but for good reason, I went to Mexico!
My buddy mentioned a rock crawling event outside Tecate, so we hopped in his truck and went. Pretty much packed ourselves and a ton of beer haha.

There were a TON of vehicles out there! Mostly all Jeeps, some built crawlers, and a handful of Yotas.

    This is his rig.

Beginning of the night started by recovering two Jeeps. One lost a wheel (you can see the drag marks from his axle)
The second Jeep broke his steering linkage.

After that began the night run of many many many trucks (I want to say there were upwards of 70, it was wild!)

This is a fraction of all the pictures, and many videos that I took, very cool and memorable trip! Some of the gnarliest obstacles I’ve seen and been passenger in! Didn’t get back to camp until 1am haha. I really need to learn Spanish since I don’t know anything past how to ask for a beer  :drunk:

    So much AWESOME, Mike!

70 trucks? At night? That's some serious Entourage, huh, @Marty McFly.

It was a crazy number of people! With as much beer flowing as there was I’m surprised it went as well as it did.

Good to see these things hold up! Glad to see you're okay Mr. Inferno!

Had the family's old 2000 Land Cruiser with me at school. In January I hit some road erosion/pothole, lost control, and flipped it on its side and took out 5-6 trees on the way. Totaled obviously, but thing held up like a tank. Thats what led me to stay in the family with the Tundra.

Thanks for all the dealer advice guys! Ill give Longo a call today. and ask to speak with Martin.

Once I figure out how to easily post pics in here Ill throw some up of the old LC and the new ride. Maybe a selfie if you guys are lucky.

Pleasure to be welcomed in here!

@InfernoToyo , glad you're okay. Please tell me you didn't have a passenger.

@McFly, you're clearly the boss here. Can you get a newbie up to speed? How often do us SoCal types meet up? This seems like a super chill group.

Thanks for thinking that, but I’m not the boss, just a low level SoCal time traveler :D
@Sunnier, now she’s the SoCal boss of all bosses :boink:

As far as meet ups, we’ve only had 2. We definitely would like to do more and I know some people were hoping for at least once a month, but life tends to get in the way sometimes and schedules get busy. Plus the heat is pretty bad for some trail runs. Hopefully we can get something going soon. I’d like to meet up with the crew again and meet all the new members :fistbump:

Bunch of awesome guys and gals around here!

I know I'm a little taco in the world of big Tundras! But you're welcome to join the Thursday night brewery meets I hold on tacomaworld.com (everyone is welcome on that note)

This Thursday we're going to AleSmith. Usually meet up around 6:30-7pm and stay until 9 or 10 (but welcome to come and go as you please)
    upload_2018-7-17_16-19-35.jpg

    Boss lady @Sunnier

Yeah it can be hard to coordinate, but the socal group is getting bigger which will help encourage more meets! And once this heat subsides and we can be in the desert during the day :boink: :burnrubber:

    :rofl::thumbsup:

I agree, this heat is insane! Once it cools down I think the meets will pick up.

Naw. Probably I am too bossy :lalala:
but I am not the boss of anyone here!

If you read through... whatever thread led to this thread..., you'll see @Marty McFly was voted inaugural year Club President fair and square. I'm just the woman behind the man behind the woman @Marty is married to (Hi, "Jen"!).

WHAT I REALLY am is the only owner of a brand new inferno 2WD willing to hang out with a bunch of yahoos I'd never met before, and get stuck while off-roading. :anonymous:

But now we're all good friends :fistbump: so no one talks about that away from the trail. :fingerscrossed:

Big Bear maybe. But there's probably "pinstripes" gathered on the shady side of the mountain. :boink: If one of you up that way find a trail, I probably would join the conga up from San Diego....

I did an exploratory run on an "intermediate" trail out near Campo (figured you Riverside guys might travel down here if I could guarantee it met standards) but I found that rains have transformed one stretch into difficult. I was lucky to back out my locked 4x4 4Runner with MaxTrax. So... the heart is willing, but the flesh....

I have no problem shooting down to SD for the day! I’m even good with going back to anza to explore a little more.

Even though I’m probably the closest member to big bear, I have zero knowledge of the trails up there. I’d be good with a meet in Big Bear.
