Nope. My son wants to try lobster so we've planned a fambly date night Saturday, and I'm off Sunday night (rare fortuitous treat), so we'll join a bunch of buddies to eat, drink, and yell at the Patriots.

My newest crazy idea is to find an old Toyota 4x4 to go off-roading. I could get an SUV however it comes, or a 1st or 2nd gen Taco or Tundra and mod it up, for less than I'd pay to trade my lovely BFT for BFT + 4x4. And I wouldn't have to worry about paint.

But my handy-vehicle-mechanical-buddy had to cancel today because of a medical emergency in his family :(, so I know I should delay this project til he's available.

Something like this would make the perfect little trail rig. Easy to get parts for, super reliable motor (as long as you do the timing belt every 100k), small enough to fit down all the trails but big enough to fit the family.
    https://sandiego.craigslist.org/nsd/cto/d/2001-4x4-toyota-4runner-sr5/6481956489.html

Or if you wanted to stick with a Tundra

Sorry to hear about the emergency. Hopefully all is ok!

    Thanks for the links.

Burst appendix. Moved him to Rady's. Should be okay. Always stressful when kids aren't well though. Thanks!

    Mornin y'all :hattip:

No outdoor plans. My wife got tickets to the Broad Museum in downtown LA. Gonna see some art this weekend.

I hope you find a good truck to wheel with sunnier! Hope your friends family is doing alright.

Good morning, Marty! I feel like a cheater, looking into a non-Tundra to wheel with (squeezing my BFT's shoulders and hips through those rocks was the most fun I've had in years!), but I've done the numbers every which way-- looks like I could maybe trade up to an Inferno 4x4 Tundra... for about half the cost of my planned house renovation. And only one of these loans may qualify for a tax write-off, so....

Museums are fun now and then!

Thank you. I think he'll be good to go. A big plus to living near a big city is great medical care. Children's Hospital is an awesome resource; grateful it's nearby.

I love art especially the old stuff. It's going to be great :woot: I've got practice in the mirror lolimage.jpg

I work for a children's hospital and it's a blessing to see kids get the help they deserve.
As for the cheating, I'm not going to lie. After our wheeling trip I fell in love with that land cruiser :(
I kinda want one now :anonymous:

Hey guys, finally got my 6112’s installed today. I contacted @speed freek over on the tacomaworld site. He runs his shop out of his house in Vista.

Jason was way cheaper than any shop in like a 100 mile radius. (Yes I called everywhere) He also had me in and out in about 1.5 hours.

I told him we had a pretty active SoCal forum over here and would give him a plug since I was pleased with his work.

Went to Joshua Tree over the weekend, should have know better than to listen to a rock climber and go on a "trail" called "Chasm of Doom" but we went anyways and it was WILD!

We had to drop into this tiny hole...

And then shimmy on our back under this slab, as you can see, only shin height

Then we were lead to the "easy" trail, Hall of Horrors. It was not "easy"
