    Same thing happened to mine after a suspension install..

    It turned out to be a plug for the speed sensor that wasn't plugged back in ..
    Luckily is was an easy fix for me.

    We have a bunch of cool Taco guys on here... they come ‘around drooling over our grown up trucks. :spy:

    Then when they eventually trade up, they’re all set with buddies and mods! @eccracer104, please will you square this New Guy away, about your... other... hang out forum.

    And, @RegularCabTacomaTundra, off-roading over here has quieted down a lot too... it’s the Covid. Still going on, but not published on the forum in advance so as not to have our usual 4.73957 million trucks show up without RSVP (how we rolled pre-Covid).

    Question for the Tundra fam: what’s the good bad and ugly with 3rd gens?
    I learned SR5 and up with bucket seats comes with the larger fuel tank. Factory tow package comes with a trans cooler. Any other notable things I should be on the lookout for? I’m eyeing 3rd gen double cab 4x4.

    They’re really, REALLY BIG!

    It’s kinda hard to see over the hood (think: coming up over a hill at speed; trying to spot a technical line down hill... you’ll learn to look way ahead, before the view disappears 20’ in front of you; Definitely don’t get a sport scoop);

    they’re damn comfortable compared to a Taco;

    they look really good!;

    the trans cooler got omitted in the newest year.

    If you get a TRD you get better shocks (waste of money for you; toss ‘em anyway :p);

    the DC is better than the CrewMax for your needs; but the CrewMax has a roll-down rear window... maybe good for the doggos, if you plan to add a topper;

    there’s no locker....

    Um, and, for whatever reason, there’s something in the rarefied air in the large cab that causes allergy to pinstripes. Maybe ask @Marty McFly, as he suffers greatly from this malady. :D

    Got it. Newest year no trans cooler.

    I’m pretty used to looking way ahead, but accounting for the size will be a change of pace. I used to daily an Excursion way back when, so I’ll channel my time from that haha.

    No locker I know.
    I was toying with the idea because I was sold on the 1st gen DC for the roll down window but I’ll live without it. I’d prefer the bigger bed to the bigger cab.

    Lol! Yeah stock shocks are getting tossed ASAP.

    I did notice some small changes like instrument cluster is different 18+, something is different with the headlights. Not sure what else I noticed varies in the gen but yeah :)

    Headlights sucks for the most part. Most of us upgrade to the LED headlights form the higher end models. Halogens suck

    One thing I forgot to add. If you like music, the stereo and speakers sucks. Don’t get fooled in the JBL system and 8” sub it’s horrible.

    @eccracer104

    2018 is the sweet spot..

    Limited model is the way to go in my opinion.

    New cluster and comes with transcooler, large gas tank and all the latest tech..

    Adaptive cruise control is a MUST for long drives.. I find myself using it all the time.

    Hell yeah. Fucking do it Mike!! All that matters is you get a doublecab with the larger tank. Nothing else matters.

    Hmmm... damn 2018 is looking good.

    I have the adaptive cruise in my ladies t4r, it has its ups and downs. I do like it on longer drives, but the local stuff it’s rough. When traffic is a little more dense if a car cuts in front of you the adaptive braking is sketchy.

    :D:fistbump::cheers:

    Right.. mainly for the long hauls.
    You know back from wheeling.
    Following your buddy to the trail ect..
    not recommended for everyday driving with traffic lol

    Haha I hear ya!

    So this pushes me a little more towards opening my budget for an 18.

    I found a great deal on a 17’ with higher miles, and I’m favoring that due to the price. But I’m liking 18+ more and more haha
