My urologist is playing it safe. The bone scan indicated an "anomaly" ...hence the CAT scan of my head. The cancer is back but they need to rule things out. They are trying to find where it is. Can't be too bad if they can't find it, right!

That truck you were asking about, Marshall's, was sold about a yr. ago. I don't know if you'll get any answers on the forum. I have his contact info if you need to get ahold of him, lemme know.

I saw. I found his built thread via his FS ad lol. I’m like “wow this is the one, and it’s near my home town!” “Oh... it’s sold... damn” It’s basically exactly what I want to build, so really would like to know what he liked, disliked, and would change suspension wise.

Not necessary to hit him up unless you talk to him regularly or are already going to ask him something. I do appreciate the offer! Thanks!

The 4 bolts that secure the lower ball joint. One maybe fell out earlier causing stress and vibration to the remaining. Another I found broken in the dirt near the failure. Bruce and Co. extracted the other two that snapped then cannibalized and cut bolts from other gen Tundras on scene to re-attach. Gtg!*

Got us through the remainder of that trail and me safely home to SD the next day!

    * ‘Cause Bruce recalls details like bolt specs from every model Tundra, and he and his friends between them had everything we needed including extractors and a cutting wheel. It was impressive.

Well, dang it, Matt, this ain’t what any of us want as we try to hold everything together to get through 2020. What a crap year. I hope you’re right, that your urologist is a cautious and thorough guy applying his expertise to keep you well! I’ll keep you in my Friendsgiving prayers. <hug>

Yes, we definitely need more tools! In addition to learning as I go, I’m slowly collecting tools and parts. As I currently have the only 1st gen when I go out, I’m also thinking about getting an axle... in prep for the day I need to activate the Tundras.com railroad for desert repair ... oh, wait, that’s already been done.
And our axles hold up better than later gens, as far as I’ve gathered.

Actually, everything on Hulk is so beefed up, these bolts at the lower ball joint are a main remaining weakness. I heard of a fabricator called solo that may be designing larger versions for our 1st gens. :muscleflexing:

I said our because, once you get one and build it out, Hulk won’t be so lonesome... plus we can divide up carrying spare parts. :boink:

Has he flown? Or is he fixed after the break?

He last flew during the 2019 Turkey Run, but no pics or video (so it didn’t happen :D).

He got trail fixed to get me home, but we haven’t yet followed up to replace all those substitute bolts. Sadly, this week I discovered a significant leak... trans case? I gotta drop the trans skid plate to get better pics and verify the source. So, while I’m going stir crazy, my hoped-for escape to anywhere with dirt this coming weekend won’t happen. :(6B4C8009-CEB8-40B6-9721-7C53E01AC566.jpg

I got sucked into holiday prep so I haven’t checked it out yet... but I just got unsolicited permission :) to work on it tomorrow while the turkey cooks. I doubt that’s realistic (I usually spend that time prepping and cooking the other food), but I’m all about giving it a try.

And... I’ve been thinking. If there’s something wrong at the transfer case that may be more than I can fix myself... would it be time to add a locker?!! I mean, you know, while we’re “in there”.

Stop! If you haven’t, don’t disconnect the battery. Yes it may reset, but not all readers will capture that code once it’s reset, then you’ll have to wait to “read” it til the codes come up again*.

Did you get your tires mounted onto RW wheels? Where? I’m gonna guess this is related and taking the truck back there would be where I’d start. I made this guess based on the ABS light. What is “TC”?

*a lot of cheaper readers than Tech stream that a buddy local to you might help you with, I mean.

I had a similar issue when suspension was installed. Turned out to be a bad speed sensor wire.
