That’s not good to hear. I wonder why they water is low? PVR is usually good fishing for browns. How hot is up there? I’m pretty sure that has to do with why the fishing sucks

I was at Bridgeport Reservoir. The water was really low because former NV senator Harry Reid and a conglomerate he runs bought the water rights and is slowly draining it. Along with destroying a great fishery, he’s also destroying a major migratory stop for birds. The locals are furious because it’s also going to eventually destroy the local economy which is heavily dependent upon tourism. So sad.

The best recommendation I can make is slow down and watch your speed going thru Lone Pine, Independence, Big Pine, and Bishop. The police were out and nailing ppl for speeding thru town. I’ve always been very conscious of my speed just out of respect for the locals.

Little night run up Santiago Canyon last night with three other Tundras. This trail is always a blast at night. Blew a fuse on my retrofits and a nice fella in a T100 gave me one at the top. 20C8228E-290A-4FD5-BC4A-5D71D7832620.jpg982A9554-3F3D-44D4-BD0D-55EE88C96317.jpgDB1B82F3-6FDD-488C-A36D-E73BFA5680BF.jpg490BEFEA-B95B-4EAE-B201-41173945D387.jpg81CA3BEA-A870-43A6-B123-9381201CAA83.jpg

I agree with this advice! You’ll think you’ve seen all the local cops busy on stops of other people. Beware! There’s another clear and watching for You. :eek2:

They patrol the open stretches of 395 by airplane. I had cars blow by me at ~100mph with no CHP in site, only to see them pulled over a few miles up the road. Other times I’ve seen them(CHP)just pulled over and waiting for an offender to pass by.

Fresh headlights and a retrofit will fix you right up!

Definitely do not avoid Reward Mine or Buckeye Hot Springs. I would recommend not avoiding them. Lol.

Welcome from SoCal! Are you in CO or CA? I saw your other thread said CA but you updated your profile to CO. :monocle:

As for the skids, hopefully another new member will offer up. What I hope... is that you want a skid because you like to play off-road. Do you?

Haha yeah originally from SoCal but moved to CO recently. Just came back to visit for a week and pick up the tundra. Noticed it didn’t have the front skid so thought I’d reach out since I’m here for a few more days.

Good luck! I hope someone answers up for you. It’s pretty typical around here for guys to sell ‘em when they trade up to aluminum or steel. I think they come with TRD but not others.

Maybe also post on the CO thread....

We took the Silverado Canyon entrance. Everything was open at that time. Have fun! Be careful, they pulled a Tacoma that lost control out of the ravine the next morning.

Appreciate that bud! Was hoping to start off the Ortega entrance. Hit the peak. Then exit out of maple springs. Anybody know if this is possible or did they gate it off.

I was worried that was why you were asking, that's sad. Often, here at least, trees like that are "protected" as heritage trees. I guess I'm a bit of a tree hugger. As a woodworker I've seen a couple species all but disappear.
