Any suggestions for a wax that will sheen the water off the hood and not cause the water to bead? Water spots get baked on the paint when the sun finally shows up in western pa. I have a 2022 tundra in blueprint. Any suggestions are appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Ron

I've used Collinite 845 in the past with good results. For sheer protection you should consider getting a ceramic coating. All my vehicles are now coated with Opti-Coat Pro Plus.

I have a black truck and have had great results with Megs Ultimate, then a top coat of beadmaker. Keeps the paint dark, glossy and protected for 4 months. Does bead, but it is protected and water or stains do not etch into the paint.

A ceramic coating would be your best bet, although it is still possible to get water spots with one. The benefit is that they do not etch into the paint as easily as with a non-coated vehicle. The key to any protection is proper maintenance. I'm a firm believer in topping any LSP periodically. I currently have a spray coating (Dr Beasleys LS10), which gets topped monthly with Sonax Ceramic Detailer. Water spots have not been an issue.
