    Hi gang,

I spoke with Corey at Car Pro/Sky’s the Limit....

It would appear that Waxaddict is being replaced by a new tire shine.

I have some on the way and will advise you all....

He didn’t go into detail but if I find out I’ll advise....

    Here is the new stuff...

    https://www.carpro-us.com/wheels-trim/obssssd-tire-dressing-satin-16-oz/

As I said, I have some on the way and Corey said it is “awesome.”

    Thanks Steve!

If Corey wants me to do a test between WaxAddict and Obssssd, I’d be available to do it! I own the WaxAddict part (shameless plug)!

Wow interesting. I'm shocked they replaced the waxaddict as it seems to have been very well received. I hope this stuff is as good.
    Sub'd for results. Thanks Steve!!

Had to take my buddy to the hospital.

I’ll be out tomorrow morning to start testing. Unless the beaver somehow comes back from the dead and starts rebuilding...let’s hope not...

    Ok,
    Washed the truck this morning.
I’m gonna specifically focus on the tires and wheels since we are looking at the new Obssssd Tire dressing.
I applied the cleaner, which is a cleaner that is no longer carried by Car Pro. I applied, scrubbed and rinsed the tire 3x’s.
    70889A33-AEA4-4D14-986E-1CE87F6495C2.jpg
    D98FE834-C496-43FE-9B7B-BA5C85A47AD0.jpg
Once everything was washed and dried.
    C82A7285-8D3A-4EF2-9A0B-5CB424B18D3C.jpg
I went ahead with the application of not only the new dressing but Waxaddict as well.
This is the front tire right side...

Then, on the opposite side, same tire I applied W.A....
    025417C2-3C4E-490B-8A13-1ADF988D57BD.jpg CAAC9376-5E26-4E67-8E70-5CE7B13C6CF2.jpg

Note the Toyota emblem and it’s orientation in the above 4 pics so I know which side is which. In the two pics, in which Obssssd is applied and the other side has nothing.
On the back tires, I applied Waxaddict to the left and Obsssd on the right.
    Initial findings...

-In the two pics directly above this I noted that the sheen was nearly identical after one coat. I did “level”out the W.A. about 2 minutes after application.
-Waxaddict is a tad thicker in viscosity.
-As I noted earlier, Obsssd smells like Armor All.
-Both went on the same way, a couple of shots of product to the applicator and then massaged in.
-Waxaddict has a slightly more sheen than Obsssd but when Waxaddict is leveled, the appearance is nearly identical.
-After 15 minutes and 30 minutes, the surfaces are both dry and have a clean smooth feeling. I didn’t get any product transfer to my fingers.

Now, we will see which is has better durability so stay tuned folks....

The only caveat to the test was my applicators. For the Obssssd, I used this applicator...
    EA362953-A1FC-4EB9-8249-008149AF08D3.jpg
    D8AFA9E6-700C-4ADE-B7C7-9ABDDC052861.jpg

With the Waxaddict, I used a new blue applicator that was foam and a bit more coarse.

As a side note, I did try Obssssd soap...
    3E4A162A-4AC6-461B-9E9B-F3A4847FB7DF.jpg 3E4A162A-4AC6-461B-9E9B-F3A4847FB7DF.jpg
    FF4CE241-BFA7-43F7-86AA-E73D7D3AAF4C.jpg

It was ok. Nothing to make me want to switch to this over my favorites. Very light fruity scent, foamed decent enough when used in cannon and bucket, lubricity was good.

Thanks for the write up, it was helpful. So, in summary, this seems to be a comparable substitute for WaxAddict (pending durability results) with the one caveat of being slightly thinner.

IMO, the durability is the key issue. Waxaddict shines in that category. If Obsssd can’t cut the mustard then it’s back to the stores searching for a replacement.

If folks are on the fence, I would suggest holding off on buying it until we, Yes we, see how it stands up against the elements.

Another forum memeber has a bottle of Obssssd....:D:D:D

Well Gang, I was chatting with @driverdog Jim, about the Obsssd Tire shine. So after doing a job yesterday on a Pathfinder, I’m leaning into the category of that it’s NOT a replacement for Waxaddict.

We were thinking that maybe the Waxaddict that was left behind on mine, may have enhanced the Obsssd on my tires.

After doing the Pathfinder yesterday, hasn'thad any tire dressing on it in two years, the results are less than expected. I scrubbed the tires 3 times with the same tire cleaner.

    The search continues....
