When I purchased my new tundra a week ago they sold me a warranty that was for any ase mechanic shop. I’m considering purchasing a toyota platinum 10/100k warranty since it was substantially less and getting a refund. My preference would be to have Toyota fix it rather than a random shop. What have you guys done for warranty purchases?

Go for the Toyota warranty. Third party warranty can be very tiresome. Sometimes you have to pay the shop first and waiting for their approval for you to get money back. I never buy third party warranty.

100% agree with the previous posts. With the Toyota Platinum warranty the VIN becomes the warranty. They look at your VIN when you bring in the vehicle and that's it. You will have an impossible task even trying to find a private mechanic to work on a vehicle with a third-party warranty which means you will have to pay for it yourself. If and I mean a massive IF the third-party holder of said warranty agrees to pay it will NEVER be for the whole amount. Understand I am not defending the Toyota warranty in any way and every dealer I wish would be drone targeted but not dealing with the headache is reason alone.

If you haven't already purchased a waranty you should get it from Wolverine Toyota. I canceled the 3rd party one and bought a toyota platinum one from them. Waaaaay cheaper.
Jennifer Taylor is the one that handles it.
