Man so sorry to read this. I have a buddy that had eye surgery and his eyes itch constantly I cant imagine either one of these well hopefully something can be done or it goes away on it's own some how.

Sorry you’re going through this Rich. Have you tried Bose QC35 or other high quality noise cancellation headphones? I have mild tinnitus sometimes and music with active NC drowns it out. Sometimes I even fall asleep with them on.

    Normally background noise cancels it.
During my work day I hardly notice it
When I am home and it’s quite it kills me

I was a mechanic in a past life for 23 years. The noise in that place took its toll and 13 years later still haunts me

I also do this. I don't know what caused it but I worked in very loud environments for the better part of a decade, maybe hearing damage? I didn't realize how bad it was until I went camping recently. Trying to sleep in the complete silence with that noise in my ears almost drove me crazy

Have you seen an ENT? After about 30 years of shipyard, guns and rock n roll, I had constant tinnitus. Plus I couldn't hear a damn thing. Hearing aids took care of all that. Don't go to a hearing aid outlet, find a good ENT.

I know what everyone is dealing with here. I took a nap before work three years ago. Woke up and could barely hear out of my right ear. Went to an ENT specialist and was diagnosed with sudden hearing loss. Never heard of it but now i have the ringing and constant pressure in my right ear. A hearing aid helps a little but not much. I wouldn't wish this on anyone.

I had a rough head injury about 3 years ago and had tinnitus. I still have it slightly, but going to the chiropractor greatly reduced it. Maybe something to look into.

Was rear ended in a car accident got a pretty good concussion and have had tinnitus ever since. Go to an audiologist and they can find the specific dB level of the ringing. Once you find that exact dB level there are apps you can get for free that actually emits that precise dB and the ringing is completely gone. Once you put your earplugs in with the app you will sleep like a baby! It has changed my world.

Yep, I’ve got both those problems as well. Definitely too much loud rock music. Working in environments with power tools like Skil saw’s jackhammers and drills squeaking their way through the wood LOL. I tried to always wear wear eat protection with the jackhammer, but I wasn’t very good about wearing them all day with the other tools.

My ears ring pretty bad so I always have the fan on otherwise I’ll go insane. Or I’ve got to be dead tired. When it’s real quiet I can hear the pulsing although that one’s not as consistent. I think some of mine may have to do with my blood pressure too.

Sorry to hear it’s giving you a hard time lately.

Yep, got the crickets, ringing and shrills. The audiologist at the VA tested me and got me some noise cancelling hearing aids. They work pretty good, I need to wear them like I should.

Sorry to hear you’re suffering like that. I think I have a minor case of it. Like others said, it’s worse at night when everything is silent. I think I got mine after shooting at a hog with a .30-06 while inside the confines of a wooden blind with no ear pro. That one shot left me and my Dad temporarily dazed with how loud it was inside that blind.

Anyway, I hope you’ll be able to find a remedy for your ailment soon. Some of the suggestions on here sound promising enough for me to give them a try, at least for my minor symptoms.

The sound of crickets & cicadas 24/7, and the occasional flat-line tone in one ear that drowns out everything.
