I recently purchased cargo lights from VLEDS.com and have experienced issues with my key fob locking/unlocking the doors. Not sure if the LEDs are emitting some sort of frequency that could interfere with the key fob? The issue isn't consistent either as it seems to be intermittent. For example, I can unlock the driver side door with one click but there is a delay when I hit it a second time to unlock the passenger and rear doors. Similarly, when I get out of the truck and go to hit the lock button it will not register until the cargo lights time out.

I'm going to replace them with the stock bulbs and am pretty confident it will fix the issue, but wanted to see if others experienced similar issues? Kind of sucks since the LEDs cost $25 a pop

Yup I experienced the exact same thing. I swapped with some other random eBay leds and now it works fine. Dealer warrantied new batteries, fob, and finally receiver before figuring out it was the LEDs in the cargo light. Apparently the receiver is close to that area and they were throwing out some frequency that messes with the receiver.

Not what I want to hear...I just ordered these bulbs. Yes, $50 for the pair Is a tough pill to swallow but I really like their products. At this price point I need them to work right.

I did as well I know Matt @GreatAvalon is running them without problems. Vleds has great customer service I would call them. If they are the cause maybe throwing in a $10 resistor would be the solution

Thanks Greg for the info. They have not shipped yet (I just ordered last night). I am sending an email now and will include a link to this thread. Not sure I want to mess around with a resistor since I was looking for plug and play. Thanks.-Andy.

Talked to Matt he had them in two Tundra's previously no issue but both were previous to 2018. So maybe with all the new electronics in the 2018 there might be an issue. I'm sure if it is an issue VLEDS would have a solution and as previously mentioned it might just be a load thing which a resistor would fix.

I just spoke with Eli at VLEDS and he said that the antenna for the key fob remote was moved to the area of the cargo/brake light on the 2018's and that interference from the LEDs could affect the key remote. The issue is not widespread. They will issue a refund if I have any problem with mine. A resistor would not be a fix to this issue. I should have them this week and will update this thread after they are installed.

The nice ones I bought from SuperBrightLeds did not work, the cheap ebay ones I had laying around worked and did not affect the key fob. Go figure. I tried originally going back to the OEM bulbs but just couldn't take it!

I had issues with my key fob on my 2019 after installing the VLEDs cargo light bulbs. I thought it was a bad fob battery but replacing a new battery didn’t help. The problem seems intermittent like yours. Now I know what to try. I think it’s more widespread than they are acknowledging.

I have been fighting this from day one, had no idea it could be the LEDs in the cargo lamp. Never would have put that 2 and 2 together.

Thanks everyone for replying. There is some good info in here for anybody thinking about replacing their cargo lights to LEDs on the 2018's and up. Hopefully VLEDS will offer me a refund now that they are acknowledging the issue...

They told me that I could return them within 30 days (for any reason) for a refund.

Same here, but not really that bothersome to me. I really like the cargo lights. In fact, I took advantage of VLED's Black Friday sale and changed every single bulb to VLED and I love it. It's intermittent but not annoying enough for me change back.

Great to hear that VLEDS is working on this. I will be receiving my 921 LEDs tomorrow . I was going to send them right back but I will hang on to them for a while. Thanks Bob for the update.

Yes, especially when so many on here and other forums run VLEDS no problem. I know the 2018's became a little more sensitive to stuff like this, so that's good to know. I'm sure VLEDS can tweak their product - the owner has a Tundra himself so I think he takes care of this group :)

So I noticed this same issue with mine after putting some cheep Amazon LEDs in. Hasn’t been an issue for me since I set it to unlock all 4 on first press.

This is a great suggestion!!! Can this be done via the steering wheel controls or does it require a trip to the dealership?

Keep us posted once you hear back from VLEDS. I'm past the 30 day window for returns, so interested to see what solution they come up with.

This sounds like it will fix the delay in hitting the unlock button a second time for the passenger and rear doors. But I still have problems with the lock button registering until the cargo lights time out...

FYI - I turned my cargo lights off for the time being and the key fob is working like it should.

Maybe I’m not having the same issue. Lock works just fine when I get out of the car and cargo lights are on. Interesting.
