Okay, before I start, I do know that there are other threads started on the subject of wrapping the chrome bumpers, but they have led me nowhere with my color code (MGM 1G3).

So what I'm trying to do is make this thread with colors and websites that people have bought vinyl from that are actually active still. So drop what color code the truck is, the website you ordered vinyl from, the color name on the website, and I'll make a list of this in the original post by editing it.

    Midnight/Attitude Black (218): 3M Gloss Midnight Blue vinyl: https://multimedia.3m.com/mws/media...r-wrap-film-series-1080-sell-sheet-3994-6.pdf

    Magnetic Grey(1G3): https://www.fellers.com/orafol/cat/...acal-970ra-metallic-with-rapid-air-air-egress GLOSS CHARCOAL METALIC 937

wait. why would you want to cover up the bestest and fastest color? magnetic grey is awesomer than any vinyl. :headbang: now, those posers with the white trucks, they should be lining up to get wrapped in grey... :boink: :bananadance:

I should have specified. I'm trying to cover the chrome on the bumper caps.

Oracle 937 charcoal metallic. There are a few threads on wrapping the bumpers. There's also 3m brand that's a good match, I can't remember which it is off the top of my head.

I think a little chrome is alright. Personally, I don’t like all 1 color. I think it needs something to break it up the monotony. On my MGM I have everything blacked out except for the grill surround and the bumper caps, and I get compliments almost every day on the way it looks.

I just ordered 3M 1080 vinyl in "Midnight Blue" for my Midnight/Attitude Black Mettalic (Toyota paint code 218).

I saw a swatch in person and it looks like a perfect match.

My vinyl showed up last night. Will be installing on my bumper caps and grill surround this weekend. I will post pics once the work is done.

I'm getting mine done Wednesday. Still not 100% sure on whether to get white or black. Leaning towards black. I think it will look better if I add black flares later.

Ok, did it over the weekend. Mostly happy with it, but it is not a perfect match. Slightly more blue than midnight/attitude black.

It was a very time consuming and somewhat aggravating job. But I am happy with the end result. Materials cost $100, and I spent approx. 8 hours doing the bumper caps, hood bulge, and grill. Had help from a local friend with a 2nd gen tundra.

It is a tad bit bluer but from a distance you cant tell from what I see. Would you do this again or would you pay the labor for a shop to do it?

Looks good! What brand did you go with?

Don't know how I missed this thread, but there are a few others related to the vinyl wrapping and 1G3.
I wrapped my front hood bulge, mirror caps and handles back in the fall. I recently completed my front end caps and posted here:
    https://www.tundras.com/threads/vinyl-bumper-wrap-mgm.17850/page-2
(Posts 40, 52 and 55 have pics). Post 40 references other threads I posted to as well.

Looking forward to seeing your pics.

Go for it, but word of advice for when you do it, use as little heat as possible
