    I have a 2016 Tundra SR5.
    52000 miles
    2w drive

I noticed the vibration just seem to start. It starts at 40 to 45 stops and starts again at 60 to 65 and stops. I had fairly new tires with only 5000 miles.

i brought the truck to the tire shop and they felt the tires were defective. Ended up changing all 4 out to a different brand and a higher speed rating.

The problem continued. I had the front end aligned and they told me the front bearings were bad. The alignment did not solve the problem.

i changed the front bearings, they seemed ok but I changed them anyway. That did not sol e the problem.

i checked the carrier bearing and it had almost no play so I left it alone.

so any help will be appreciated.

Any suspension mods to the vehicle? Level kit, maybe? Are your shocks in good shape? Have you had the new set of tires rotated to see if it changes the vibration? Is the vibration in the steering wheel, seat, floorboards, where? Also, what tires are you using? Some are notorious for being difficult to balance. Ask the tire shop for a balance report to see how much weight was needed to balance each tire. Are you running aftermarket wheels?

No modifications to the truck all original.
Shocks appear to be fine no leaks.
    Tires were rotated no change.
Vibration in the steering wheel, dash and center console, mostly in steering wheel.
    Stock wheels.
    Had Bridgestones replaced with Parelli.

Vibration that comes and goes with speed is often a tire balance issue. I've had a tire throw a balancing weight half a mile after getting them balanced, so maybe it's worth another trip to the tire store. Do they road force balance them?

Next check would be front steering items, but usually when those are worn they just get worse with speed - violent even.

Steering wheel shimmy ? Find someone who can road force balance them..make sure all the weight are off before they balance them.. My experience, techs were just adding weights and too lazy to remove the old ones..

Doesn't matter if the tech who did the balancing doesn't know what he's doing.

I had a similar issue and went back to the shop 3 times. 1st time, re-balance. 2nd time, re-balanced and spread the weight out, 3rd time, re-balanced and found a bad tire (brand new).

I have the same issue with my 2017, Super Crew 1794 2wd. Humming noise that can be felt in steering wheel when it's at its loudest. It hits at exactly 50mph and between 60 & 70mph. Front wheel bearings done because Toyota dealer said it was them, not. Carrier bearing because a friend said it was the cause, not. My tire shop has rotated & balanced tires with 10K on them and no change. Only weird thing is when it's colder outside its much lower volume. Nothing else affects it, just the speed the truck is moving. At this point no matter how much it drives me crazy I'm just going to run it until some falls off, breaks or catches fire.

You guys gotta keep plugging away at it....

I'm thinking it could be the front suspension---possibly the shocks/springs are setting up some kind of harmonic vibration, or play somewhere in a ball joint/sway bar/tie rod end?

One trick is to cheat a bit on the front alignment toe-in, your front tires are wanting to toe-out going down the road, so if there is play anywhere they will toe out.

Tundras are real easy to warp the rotors (with the 5-bolt pattern) when installing wheels. Usually this would show up during breaking, but could manifest as vibration at speed?

You've got to rule out tires and proper balance 100% somehow...

Any difference at-the-occurring speed range if you are on the gas or off? Brakes applied or not?

If you can narrow it to a particular state, can help isolate the issue.

Until then may just have to throw quality parts at the truck? New u-joints and carrier bearing can't hurt...

I had the same problem with a 2007 Tundra. I noticed the vibration just seem to start at 40 to 50 stops and starts again at 60 to 70 and stops. I had this truck for two weeks. I went back to the dealer and they fixed the torque converter. Problem solved. Hopefully this helps.

    Problem solved!!!
"People" said you cannot jack up the truck and put it in drive to spin the drive train under power. Maybe so on others but I turned off the traction control and it worked. The dash lit up like a Christmas tree but the drive train spun. The noise coming from driver's side rear wheel bearing. All the faults cleared as soon as I drove it 100ft... As the saying goes your milage may vary. Hope I can help others with this.

Also, move tires around after marking them with chalk to see of any vibration changes.

Same issue here. Dealer said bearing in front diff. Replaced the whole diff under warranty. Problem still there. Took it back and diagnosed as right rear axle bearing. Warranty job. All good now. 58,000 mi.
