I’m a big fan of L-Track tie downs and will be installing these in the bed of my 2026. And since this “is” my “first rodeo” with a composite bed I have been doing a fair amount research on solution that best meets my needs. And in doing so I was looking at the VersTrax product and it is showing up on two sites;https://versatrax.com/ and https://billettiedowns.com/products/tacoma-l-track-tie-down-anchor-rails. Both priced the same.

At first glance they appear to be the same product, however the specifications differ.

    VersaTrax.com
    Key specs:
    • 7075 aluminum
    • Type III (Hard Coat) Anodize
    • Breaking Strength 1500 lbs
    • Working load limit up to 750 lbs

    Carvonia Designs.com (CD)
    Key specs:

    • Black hard anodized finish.
    • 500-650 working load limit
I’ve seen marketing references to hard anodized finish before and it wasn’t actually Type III, a.k.a Hard Coat; all anodizing provides some level of hardness to the surface. What “Type” anodizing is this referring to?

I can only assume the reason for the reduce WLL is due to not using the stronger 7075 since there is no reference to it?

What is the tested Breaking Strength of the CD version?

So I’m a little confused, as anyone might be, when looking at these different specs, and would like to understand why the difference between the two.

Are there really two different models, the standard VersaTrax sold by VersaTrax and VersaTrax Lite available at CD?

Or is one an older version, and if so which one?

If you find a single L-track anchor tie down point for a single bed bolt, let me know. Versatrax used to produce "Versatrax Onetrax" but the company doesn't produce anymore....

Just a heads up, you can find them cheaper on Etsy ($68 shipped). I installed them a couple weeks ago and went decently smoothly, minus one bolt getting chewed up when trying to install. The ones on Etsy come with replacement bolts, but are otherwise the same.

Will do! I’m investigating various options for my needs and expect to have a solution finalized within the next week or two. It may fit your needs as well…stay tuned.

I appreciate the heads up. Right now I’m interested in knowing why the differences in the two…which is the latest? Which version did end up with?

The ones from Etsy are the Carvonia ones you linked based off load limit, but came with Versatrax instructions and new bolts. Couldn't tell you the difference otherwise.

    @Charvonia Design
    Keith,
As one of the sellers of this product, would you please provide some clarification/answers to the questions posed in my original post? And sorry for the typo “carvonia”

What “Type” anodizing is used; chromic, Type II, Type III?

What series of aluminum: 6061, 7075, other?

What is the tested Breaking Strength? Or what is the safety ratio used to determine WLL/SWL?

    Which version is the latest?

I am comparing L-Track style solutions for my composite bed and specifications are something that I pay close attention to, especially on this type of application. Would greatly appreciate your clarifications.

    Steve

Two you posted are the same. They were bought out.

Thanks for the response but I don’t understand your statement “Two you posted are the same”. They have the same name VersTrax but are clearly different, and the reason for my post. When you say they were bought out, I assume Keith Charvonia bought the VersaTrax product line from Nick Chase? I read a reference to this on another post but @Charvonia Design has not replied to this post to confirm. Hopefully Keith will clarify soon.

    Thanks again.

I just clicked both links. Both say 7075, and weight limits. 500-650. Different generation? Maybe a typo on one originally. Both are the same details right now.

Hi guys, apologies for being late to the party. Allow me to clear some things up.

    1. They are the same product, there is not a Lite version by Charvonia Design although that is a very creative explanation
    2. We did not buy VersaTrax. Nick was thinking about selling at one point but decided to keep it and we became a dealer since we thought Billet Tie Downs customers would also appreciate VersaTrax. It's all about supporting other small business owners!
    3. I apologize for the confusion on specs. I believe this stems from combining the Tacoma and Tundra listings, and the Tacoma specs got carried over. VersaTrax makes these and is the authority on WLL and other specs, so please defer to VersaTrax.
