How and where are you guys/gals storing or hiding your gun in your vehicle? Picking up a G43x and curious to see some ideas/good options!

I know it's irrelevant to the question.....but there was just a news story recently about 20 miles south of us in the city. 50% of the gun thefts were from auto-break ins.
I carry IWB, therefore it follows me everywhere and doesn't sit in the truck when I'm not present.

It’s not irrelevant to the question imho, I think you have to be crazy to leave your gun in your car. The gun goes with me wherever I go as well. Looking for ideas of when in the vehicle where are you storing your gun. Under the dash in a holdster, door pocket, side of center console, in center console?

    +1 on the Locker Down.

For those saying its crazy to leave a firearm in the car: I generally agree but there are times when you'll get caught and cannot carry. You need somewhere to store it. Its for those times I have a safe.

I have a Vaultek that I will be installing in my truck under the rear seat.
I dont like leaving my gun anywhere except in the holster in my wait band. However, i do frequent government buildings and cannot carry in those.

Man the best quality console safe is made by locker down. Buy once cry once.
There are cheaper ones out there, but a claw hammer or pry bar and up the lid goes. The locker down extreme is just in my opinion the only one that offers real protection.

A crackhead with a pry bar can open a real gun safe in a few minutes (Almost any gun safe that your not spending a LOT of money on). It doesn’t really matter what truck safe you buy. Buy what you can afford.

It may stop someone from stealing it opportunistically while you run about. If you leave a firearm in a vehicle overnight, even in a “safe”, you deserve to have it stolen.

I have more than one gun, truck guns stay in the truck. I'd be willing to be that 99% of the guns that get stolen from vehicles are because they were left unlocked, pretty stupid.

Yes, most guns are lost because owners left their vehicle unlocked. Thieves are not stupid, and they will target private vehicles owned by first responders for smash & grab because they know just about all first responders keep a weapon in their vehicle 24/7. Do whatever it takes to not make yourself an obvious target for low-life scum... I never leave a gun in a vehicle that's unattended.

Pelican case when transporting any firearm that is not holstered and on my person, and I never leave guns in my vehicle when it's unattended. No gun safe in my vehicles.

    No.

There is high Tech. and LOW tech to get into locked vehicles w/o leaving a trace (ie broken window). Tennis ball or bump keys are actually on YT videos, with DIY how-tos....:eek2:

This IS the deer hunt time of year: criminals target vehicles right now, with pro-gun sorts of stickers on them; S&W, NRA, GOA, etc....

Just DO It; bring the firearm inside with you, in an inconspicuous manner. If you cannot configure a way to remove it from the vehicle, and carry it inside, figure out a different parking spot; garage, etc...

Leaving a gun full time in a car or truck is asking for trouble; using it to secure a firearm when going inside a school or government building or camping trip is one thing. Using it as storage for a firearm is another. Not judging anyone - I would just not do that for a multitude of reasons (mostly because guns are expensive and I tend to not want to replace the ones I have and the propensity for it to be stolen and used in another crime). I don’t see a valid reason why anyone would ever need to store a gun in a vehicle.

Your are right with enough time and tools any safe can be cracked. The smash and grab guy is not going to spend 30 minutes hammering on the safe.
The part about not leaving the gun in a vehicle logic can also be applied to your home then.
I work in a building where firearms are prohibited. I spend days at a time there. When i leave work i like to carry. So i do what i can to make it hard for the thief.

Another option for times that require you to leave the weapon in the vehicle:

    C8FF2BD0-1D2F-4307-904F-D96401FF8E90.jpg

One can move to a different vehicle as well.

You will really like the G43X for carry duties.

First off I have zero stickers on any of my vehicles, why would you advertise ?

Car burglary's are a crime of opportunity, locking your car is easy. If I used the logic given for not keeping them in my vehicle then I'd better not have any in the home either, somebody might break in.

Its ok, I'm not here to argue. I see it one way and you see it another, doesn't make either one wrong just different

Does your friend not have a CCW permit?

I just wonder why so many people leave carry weapons inside vehicles? (Totally understand illegal areas)
