    Anyone use it?

I found this at the parts store a while back after I bought my 1997 Camry.
    https://www.valvoline.com/our-products/antifreeze-products/zerex-asian-vehicle-antifreeze-coolant

I’ve never seen it before and actually haven’t ever bought coolant other than Toyota Red/ Pink from a dealer. This can be a bit inconvenient.

From what I remember reading years back: Toyota vehicles that come with red/ pink coolant should not be switched/ topped off with standard green coolant without a complete flush of the system. Doing so can/ will cause the coolant to degrade and crystallize causing blockages and damage to your cooling system.

I've been using it for years. It's formulated to meet all the requirements for Toyotas. I use the Zerex blue for my G35 coupe.

Why are you asking about green coolant, that link doesn't reference green coolant anywhere that I can see.

I recall there's 2 labels but the same Zerex. Walmart and any other auto parts store.

There's more Walmart than Toyota dealers by me. $12.xx a jug. Only inconvenience is having to walk thru Walmart.

I just used 3 gallons 2 mos ago flushing my 08. And I use it on any of the other Toyota's that come into my garage.

Just put 3 gallons in the 2002 Tundra a few months back. IIRC, it ticks all the spec boxes required for Toy/Japanese cars. Phosphate is the key to offset the corrosion process caused by dissimilar metals sharing the coolant tunnels.

Been using Zerex for 5 years now. Perfect OEM substitute.

Definitely shouldn't mix the two colors. I haven't tried mixing them, so I can't relate the consequences, but it can't be good...the two colors represent entirely different antifreeze chemistries. See the chart in the link below:

Used it in my 2007 when I replaced the water pump and I plan on putting it into my 2014 tC (2.5L Camry Engine) whenever I can get the engine block replaced.

Remember to flush out the heater core separately as it holds about 1/4 to 1/2 gallon of fluid that doesn’t drain and needs gravity/pressure to force out its contents. Put on a new rad cap every 5 years. Cheap insurance.

I use this. When I bought my Sequoia used, I drained the radiator and refilled with Zerex. It was cheap and convenient as Advance auto parts has them and stack them with online coupon 25% off. Order online, pick up in store. Stack with online shopping cash back sites or credit card offers and save even more.

I only had one question in my post and it was:
It was in reference to the product that is mentioned in the title and in the link.

I was reminding others that green and red aren’t compatible in case they didn’t know.

I used the Advance Auto 25% off too. Used it to save $50 off my Red Top battery. Best discount you can get.

    Thanks.
I’m going to need to refill my Tacoma when I put it back together. It’s looking like I’ll use it.
I put it in the Camry a couple months ago but I wanted to get everyone’s feedback before I filled up my baby.

I used the green coolant in an old Toyota (iron block) with no problems. I have not used Zerex Asian coolant yet, but I would have no problem using it since it appears to have the same P-HOAT inhibitor chemistry as Toyota coolant.

The only coolant I would absolutely never use again in a Toyota would be Dex-cool (orange). It has been reformulated slightly into a great extended life coolant if the vehicle cooling system is compatible with OAT chemistry; e.g. GM vehicles. My experience with a 97 Avalon was that organic acid inhibitors in Dex-cool will attack the sealing elastomers in Toyotas and will cause the drain cocks and other rubber sealed parts to begin leaking. Unless the formulation of Dex-cool has been changed again, or Toyota has re-spec'd the elastomers, this will still be true.

And these are the things I wanted others to read by starting this conversation.
Thanks for posting about your experience with Dex-Cool.

I thought that maybe you wanted to continue the green theme of your paint job to the color of your coolant.

Peak has a concentrated form OET brand for Asian. It's a little harder to find but I think I got it from autozone. Sames money when you just buy a $1 bottle of distilled water. It's a little hard to find and I don't see it advertised

Edit and yes mine is green. Thought I had a leak and put the fluorescent dye in. It's going to stay green for the next 100K

I worked for Toyota for several years. During a V06 campaign and other head gasket campaigns, I noticed that the majority of the blown head gasket’s were from aftermarket antifreeze that was put in the Toyota vehicle. I highly recommend using Toyota OEM antifreeze.

The Zerex is virtually identical to OEM in chemical makeup. Haven't seen one single bad review or issue when used in place of OEM.

Wouldn't surprise me if black gallon containers go down the assembly line and splits 3 ways. At the end of line is a jug each of Zerex, Toyota Super Long Life Cool and Aisin ACT-002
