Im actually doing all this right now as well.

New head unit should be here next week. I ordered this cable as an extension for Android Auto/Apple Car Play: https://amzn.to/3xySBwq It should be here today.

Don't need AuX.. I have two usbs so would rather have second so passenger or I can charge while other could connect to deck. Mine is wireless connect deck so these are backup only. Ordered part will let you guys know.

Mine was just delivered. Ran out to the daily driver since it has a modern head unit already. Android Auto worked just fine :)

Wow. The difference in sound is amazing. Just with updated deck. Everything works. They installed microphone, GPS thing, reverse camera, and $25 for changing out lighter for double port. Top port is apple, bottom is android. Data works and tight fit. Wireless is great but still need testing. Which is why I wanted backup worked connection. Back up camera looks great in day time.. Pic is night. Turn out there is DVD player too.;)

    Finished mine last night too!

I swapped out one of the plugs on the right side for the data connection.
