2002 Tundra Access cab 4x4 Limited
Greetings, New to the forum but have been a Tundra owner since 2003. I just replaced my 2000 Tundra, v8 access cab 4x4 with 263k miles with a 2002 Limited 4x4 access cab with 92k. My old tundra had the brake update done by Toyota but my new one was never updated. In general it seemed that even the original updated brakes developed hot spots fairly quickly. Does anyone have an aftermarket brake kit that they have put on that they have been happy with that lasts longer and doesn't develop hot spots so readily?

I'm kind of looking at a 2000 RWD with 225k miles. This would be my first Tundra. You mentioned Toyota updated the brakes on your 2000. How can I find out if this truck had the update. Was it a recall? Will Toyota still do it at this point?

I have an 02 with the factory update....still ate brakes every 15k miles. Last time around we did slotted / drilled rotors and EBC pads.....30k and still going strong.

Note: this is a work truck so it is maxed much of the time and I live in the mountains so lots of hills and twisty stuff.

Do the 05-06 front brakes bolt on?
