I just bought a used 2014 tundra and after I cut the check and got it parked in the garage I noticed that the right side of my bed was lower than the left. I took it back to Jim Taylor of Ruston,La where I purchased it form and the claimed they did not notice it. They took it to their body shop and said that there was nothing they could do to it to straighten it. Well when I picked the truck up the bed was leaning worse than it was before. There was nothing on the car fax that said it was wrecked or anything. No mods have been done to my truck can anyone help please. I love the truck by the way, except the gas mileage. Help!!

    Wow...
Are the rear shocks the same settings, a lift missing?

Whoa! Get underneath and check your passenger leaf spring compared to the drivers side. Check the shock mounts too. Eyeball the frame for any obvious issues. Might just want to get the frame checked by a decent body shop if nothing obvious with the rear suspension.

That is really bad! I agree with the others check suspension. Also check the tires to make sure they are the same size.

Every truck I've had has had a slight lean one way of the other. My current Tundra is the first one that I've had that's perfect straight and level.

But I'm talking about a small difference. What you have is pretty extreme IMO. I would definitely have that checked out ASAP. Hopefully it came with some type of warranty or maybe even a return policy? It's probably fixable but I'd tell them I want to return it unless they can fix it PDQ

Measure the rear bumper. It almost looks like the bumper may be cocked.

My old 2003 Tundra had that. It ended up being the leaf springs on the passenger side.

The gaps at the bumper are way off. I would return it to dealer, tell them to give it back when its fixed.

Get a tape measure and check the center distance of both leafs to bottom of the frame.

I would bring this back. “Nothing they can do” means the dealer is not owning the problem.

I am sure a decent mechanic can determine whether the lean is suspension related, that will be easy to locate. Worst case is the frame.

Most beds are basically a box bolted to the frame. There are shims and spacers. In your case the alignment at your bumper looks even. Not so good...

Also check for a broken leaf on your spring. It could be hidden behind a clamp

You could also have someone drive it and follow to check the way it moves. In some cases you can detect a bent frame by the way the car “crabs” down the road.

It’s also silly to mention, but check the tire air pressure and compare tire size all around.

Most states have return laws on new/used car sales that allow you to change your mind no questions asked.

I looked at your pics again and I think above post is right about the gap difference.

Oh and the way they had it parked and if your standing right behind it it’s unnoticialbe. But it’s more noticeable now since they try to do something to it.

Check the gap between the bumper and the body. Your right side looks pushed in. But it also looks like there may be something else going on. The top of the tailgate doesn’t look parallel to the front of the bed.

Was there a Carfax report? A nice talk with previous owner if possible could shed a lot of light as to what may have happened. I'm really sensing something very shady going on.

Do not count on Carfax. The idea is great but most repaired accidents are not reported.

I tried to call the previous owner when I first noticed it, didn’t get an answer. I’m so sure they knew, they offered me a years worth of oil changes. I’m not done with them though. Consulting with a lawyer that goes to my church.

Your right side of the bumper looks like someone tried to adjust it and pushed it down which created a warp in the plastic. I think adjusting the bumper is covering up something else that is going on. The bumper mount directly to the frame. The bed mounts to body mounts and then the frame. What are the measurements from the top of the bed to the ground on the left and right corners? Also check ride height from center of the wheel to fender lip all the way around (all four corners). As everyone mentioned, check the suspension. Also another thing to check would be the body mounts from the bed to the frame and make sure they are all the same. Maybe one rotted out or is missing.

You have to think of the entire truck instead of focus on just one corner. A slight difference in the front can make a slight difference in the opposite corner. Could even be a frozen rear shackle causing it to bind up.
