I had my shop put on a lift and new tires. I told them I was concerned about the stock wheel with this tire size hitting the UCA, I told them to put on spacers if needed. Well the didn't use spacers so like an idiot i just assumed I was good. But i just looked at it today and this looks far too close, is there a standard distance between the 2?

    Hey Bud,

There is no standard for the space between tire and UCA, but this is too close. I would say around a fingers width or so and you're safe to go. Looks like it is time to order some spacers.

You would be fine if snow and mud is never an issue. However, where the OP lives, there’s a good chance of both.

    Spacer time.

Any marks on the tire? I've got about a fingers width and I've wheeled it pretty hard lately. No evidence of contact so no spacers needed.

I will look at them. There is no need to cut studs with 1.25?

Yes, 1.25 is the smallest you can go without cutting the studs. Some wheels are recessed in the back which allows you to go a little thinner since the studs will sit in that recess, but not all wheels have that.

Probably a good thing they did not put spacers on - you never know what brand they would use.
Go Spider Trax or Bora - hub centric spacers

I ran spidertrax never had an issue. Like @Boerseun said Bora or spidertrax, stay away from the others. you wont have to cut studs or anything, simple bolt on.

If you are on stock wheels still, adding just a 1.25 spacer makes a big difference. You will like it

Update!! I called the shop and they said this is perfectly fine, that tire isn’t going anywhere....I clearly have a different opinion and will be buying some spacers.

Just FYI I got 1.5 bora spacers without cutting. Also that is the closest I’ve seen without rub lol mine I couldn’t fit my pinky about .25 inch. Added spacers.

What are your reasons for not liking spacers? I know there are a lot of problems with crap spacers. But I see a lot of people here running good quality spacers with no issues.

Exactly my wheel couldn’t fit my pinky in between. I had em for like 6 months but didn’t like how close they were got spacers. And I agree no spacers would be ideal. But if you don’t get cheap ass ones and retorque them and stay under 1.5” I see no problem. Let me look for pics. I have flares otherwise they’d poke out
