Hey @Roman , I completed my grille replacement with the 2019 trd pro grill and surround this weekend and it is awesome! Fed Ex did just toss the package around as one of the clips on the new grill was broken. I was still able to complete installation and it functions just fine. In installing the new grille, surround and bulge though, I noticed someone had either rubbed or scraped my truck. It is the small panel underneath the headlights that has the boo boo. Can that part be ordered/color matched? Or should I just get a paint and body shop to attempt to buff it out and paint?

Using someone else's image but the circled area:

Awesome. That should change the whole look of the front end.

The headlamp panel does not come painted from Toyota. I would definitely see if they could buff it out/paint it. You'd have to get a new part painted anyway, so if there's no physical damage, repairing that one would be way cheaper.

The additives are not as robust as the Toyota 75W LF oil.
Actually did the service today. $129 for two qts. Amsoil has no interest in reverse engineering this gear oil.

So additives make the Toyota oil better? I've been using the Ravenol for 15,000 miles now. No noise and quicker/smoother shifts in and out of 4wd. Pretty much speaks for itself.

Personally, I don't believe you need to change it. What came out of my transfer case looked brand new. I doubt I'll ever change mine again.

I understand. The Blackstone analyst was enough evidence to show the Ravenol was not the same. I purchased my truck with 79k on the clock. I wanted to be sure I was not running 75W -90. A 90W oil has a viscosity 3 times thicker than 75W. Most likely you are better off using a straight 75W gear oil.
I plan to use 100K service intervals now that I have a baseline.

I've seen the analysis thread along with the person posting it claiming that Toyota didn't actually change the transfer case design when the 14 plus has a Borg Warner case. I'm skeptical but I certain am open to input.

I'm just curious why a straight 75w would be better than the Ravenol? I'd change mine tomorrow if I thought the Ravenol would cause harm.

Not to keep beating a dead horse but all I'm saying is use the Toyota 75W LF gear oil in Gen 3 Tundras. The Ravenol 75W is a close second and much more reasonably priced.
Do Not use any multi- grade gear oil. ie,75W-90.

I know I could get an answer faster if I PMed @Roman , but I'm in no rush and thought it might be something others would like to know.

My question: Is there an uprgraded OEM alternator available for the 5.7 Tundra? I know other manufacturers sometimes produce them for use in ambulance and emergency vehicles, but I've never seen a Toyota in these roles.

Toyota has three options on the alternator, and it depends on whether or not your truck came with the tow package and which trim level you have. The options are 100A, 130A, and 150A. The 150A only came in models with the tow package. 100A came in models like the SR and some of the SR5's, while the 130A came in the Limited and Platinum models.

    Thanks for the speedy response!

I assume, dangerous I know, that the tow package option would take priority over other options regardless of trim. For example, a limited with the tow package would have the 150A rather than the 130A. Is this correct?

Yep, that's correct. All models with the tow package will get the 150A.

Thanks @Roman y'all saved me some coin, even with shipping. My 2 local dealers wanted $29 to $34 dollars more for the hood bulge. Then there was the wait of 2 to 3 weeks.

@Roman needing a supply list of the pictured items when you have a free moment please sir. My truck is a magnet for other vehicles. As far as the bumper end goes, I’m assuming it bent that long piece behind it?

Roman, truck is a 2019 Tundra Platinum Crewmax. Went into local dealer to get Toyota all-weather floormats. Had a sign that had all the numbers listed as follows:

    PT908-34161-02 - C Cab
    PT908-34162-02 - D Cab

I obviously grabbed 34161 listed for the crewmax. I went to the parts counter with liners in hand, and the parts guy wanted to double check. He said I have the wrong mats and I need 34162. Said Toyota has them backwards and C and D does not mean the cabs. Pulled the parts up and when you double click on the parts it says what cabs those are for? I was nice and showed him Toyota's website and every other website that says 34161 as the correct mats. He insisted on 34162 and said he has sold hundreds of mats over the past couple years and he is right. I walked out with 34162 and they seemed to fit both up front and in the back....

Any truth or not? What really is the part number and difference between d cab and crewmax mats?

Roman, I replaced my grille and surround with the 2019 trd pro grille and surround. I did not unplug my battery when installing so I believe the sensor is reading incorrectly. I am installing the OEM sensor cover today, so should I unplug battery to reset the PCS/TSS system? If he doesn't answer can others? Thanks!

@Roman, what is the link for one Oem grilles again? I bought from you last year, but got a new tundra in a different color.

The parts guy is correct. Toyota designates the cab size by B, C, and D. B = regular cab, C = double cab, and D = Crewmax. The letters don't have anything to do with the names of the cabs, but it is confusing.

I would definitely give it a shot. It won't hurt anything to unplug the battery. I can't say for certain that's what the issue is, though.

All of the grilles are listed in the first post of this thread. If you're wanting a factory painted 8W2 grille, then your only option is the TRD Sport grille. If you don't want that particular grille, you could have any of them paint matched.

@Roman or anyone that might know, I was being careless when installing my wireless charger and caused some scrapes and chips to the plastic part in the center console lid. Is it possible to get a replacement part for this plastic section for a '19 1794? Thanks so much!
