    Hey fellas,

question for some of you that are well-versed in tuning these trucks. I just regeared my truck with 5.29s, powertrax grip pro rear and e-locker in the front. Truck was previously tuned by OTT. I’m currently running 33.4” tires so the Speedo is pretty much spot on according to gps and several roadside speed readers (I bought the hypertech reprogrammer in case I decide to go larger next time). I understand that with these trucks the speedometer data is generated off of the wheel hub data vs the more traditional transfercase output method of other vehicles. That being said since the truck is seeing accurate speed readings does anything else need to be changed in the tune to operate correctly? The truck seems to shift fine and cruises at highway speeds great. I ask because I live in a remote area so going to get a reflash is atleast a 5-6hour ride one way.
    Thanks!

You should contact them to adjust your gear ratio. It will make a huge difference in the transmission shifting. Even though it seems fine its not optimal. Can you to remote tuning?

I would unfortunately have to purchase a laptop and hardware which isn’t the end of the world but not a very appealing purchase for a one time use thing for me.

To get the full benefit of the reduced stress on the transmission and correct the shifting schedule an update would be beneficial. But maybe when your close to an OTT tuner you can get it done.

Paging @JustDSM since I think they have new options for tuning that are more convenient than a the full solution.

We can set you up with the ability to flash through your phone via the HPTuners TDN app if you want the ability to flash yourself.

Send an emal into info@overlandtailor.com and us know who you got your tune from and that you'd like a DIY kit for your Tundra.

I had the same question, I had my truck tuned a couple years back, tuner went MIA. Found another local tuner because I went 5.29’s as well. They said there’s wasn’t anything that needed to be adjusted, then told me they couldn’t find my truck in their system… @JustDSM

Send in an email to info@overlandtailor.com and talk to John about your situation. Let him know what's going on and I'm sure there's something we can do.
