    Gents,

I've been busy finishing up another little project and getting this one started so I haven't been on the forum much. Thought I'd take a few minutes to catch up on posts and respond accordingly.

I have received about 90% of the parts for the entire first round order and expect the remaining parts by Friday. Even so, I have plenty of parts to get started with and work is underway.

Looks like some of you are deciding on cameras. I like the one that @BlueBottle and @Coolhardy are looking at, and for those with front plates, the one that @Skippy mentioned. For the non-plate mounted cams and the Pro Grill I was thinking you should be able to make a backing plate to attach the camera to, and then attach the plate inside the grill where the field of view is unobstructed - Maybe between the Y and O in the TOYOTA. Or, you could also buy some thin angle aluminum bar stock at Lowes or Home Depot. Perhaps install a piece stretched across the inside grill area and painted black. Then you could drill into the angle wherever you want to mount the camera and maybe not need to modify the grill itself. And the aluminum angle isn't that hard to flex so you could potentially put a bend in it to match the inside countour of the grill. Just a thought.

Let's see... @KrazieZ asked about plug and play. The answer is about 99% PnP. You'll have to crimp or solder a spade connector (provided in the kit) to your camera power wire to match the one on the FRAC harness. Other than that, everything is ready to plug together. (EDITED: Ground wire to chassis no longer required)

And finally, I have the following names for folks potentially interested in round 2:

    @CM-LENNY, @pats_fan, @dcsleeper408, @strosek7, @jcanchol, @AxelsHumanDad, @Jassper, @T_dublecab14, @Berettafan, @Jsena, @NJBBPTUNDRA, @16tunterd, and @RacerX. If I've missed someone, let me know.

EDIT: @joonbug, @jlova23, @CoachSmith, and @Okie Also added to the wait list.

OK, enough jabbering. The soldering iron is heated up and it's time for more fab!

Made some good progress this weekend. I'm building these first 10 harnesses in parallel, trying to "productionize" the fab process as much as possible. So all 10 harness kits are in-build right now. I have enough components on hand for 7 complete harnesses and the remaining parts will be here on Wednesday. My goal is still to have them all finished this week.

These first 10 harnesses are pretty much identical to my first prototype that is installed in my truck. That's good because the design is proven, but it's bad because the current design is WAY too labor intensive for me to build in quantity. I'm happy how these are turning out but after the first 10 are complete I will be revamping the design. I already have the new concept figured out, I just need to get it on paper and make sure it's functional and more efficient to produce.

Once Rev. 2 is proven, I will contact those on the waiting list and start taking round 2 orders. Not sure of the timeline on that right now, but I will be working it as soon as round 1 kits are delivered.

Thanks again to the 10 "pioneers" who have ordered a kit, and to those on the waiting list, for your interest and enthusiasm. Y'all are awesome and I appreciate your patience as I get this all sorted out. The FRAC harness is kind of taking on a life of its own and I want to make sure that I can meet the growing demand with a quality product.

How did I miss this? Please add me to round 2 as well... my lack of depth perception will be most appreciative that I can finally stop parking 3 feet from something in front of me.

Ha! Yes @tomsinamerica, that's exactly why I developed this mod! It's nice to stop exactly where I want to in a parking spot instead of having to hop out and check the distance.

    You're on the list.

@tomsinamerica, You may have read above that I am changing the design to make fabrication more efficient. Once that is complete and the revised harness is tested, I will open the second round. At that time I will contact everyone on the waiting list and give payment details. Thanks again for your interest in the FRAC harness.

Will this work with an aftermarket Hu?

@Blindman75, the FRAC harness is designed to plug and play with the Toyota factory harness and the Entune HU. So if your aftermarket HU is pin for pin compatible with the Toyota wiring, it's possible that it could work. But without more information on your HU, I couldn't say for sure.

EDIT: The FRAC Harness is compatible with aftermarket Head Units as long as a plug-and-Play harness kit is used for the new HU.

I want in too, any chance for a 4 camera system? My Armada has it and I love it.

@Tracker, you are on the list. I may look at a 4-camera design in the future but for now I'm keeping it simple.

If its in the near future I would be very interested, it would be great for 4 wheeling.
