    Hi Lou,

    Thanks for the reply and sorry for the delay. It’s been hectic with work. I actually didn’t get a chance to take the dash apart to check for wiring. The funny thing is now it’s working intermittently so I would have to assume there’s something loose behind there. I may take a crack at it tomorrow.

    I’m not sure whether it’s 1st or 2nd gen and yes, I purchased it from another member. I will say that I am impressed your customer service and I think you have a fantastic product. This is a must have item for any Tundra!

    So I ended up with the Noauka camera and put it under the emblem. Turns out there is a horizontal stiffening rib there that I drilled a hole through for the camera mounting stem and cable to go through. Didn't have to adjust the angle at all, the chrome cross bar is just barely visible at the bottom of the screen and provides a reference to enable bumper-to-bumper parking when needed. I decided to keep the distance scale lines for now.

    Yes, it can be installed as either back-up or front camera. You reverse the image by cutting one of two cables that are partially routed outside the sheath. If you don't want the lines, you cut the other cable too. I'm still on the fence whether I should do so or not. The lines are not pretty, but may prove very useful when my kids start driving in not too long...

    It would be cool to have a switch tto turn the lines on and off.

    Great idea, @4x4_Angel. Very easy to do this, well easy technically speaking. Just cut the wire on the camera for the line display function. Then solder a wire to each side of the wire you just cut. Then run the two new wires to wherever you want in the cab and attach them to an on/off switch.

    I wasn’t showing my lines at first but then for fun, tried it with the lines....have kept them on ever since. I like seeing them as they provide a reference point. Wish they were wider but still works great. I have the same Noauka camera and it works great.

    On another note, has anyone successfully installed a headunit with Apple CarPlay and the FRAC? In theory it seems like it should work like the stock unit but before I pull the trigger, thought I would ask.

    @TundraTex

    I think I'm close to pulling the trigger on this, as I've finally got some spare income lying around. But I seem to remember some stuff about the capability of screen mirroring and such. Am I correct in thinking that you also can provide an option for that, or it comes standard, or something similar? Or am I way off base here?

    Knocked a hole in the wall (she did)..She says this is your fault and like any good husband I said sorry;). She says didn't you buy a thingy to go in the truck so you can see up front? I told her I did and yap almost 6months later I still hadn't installed the thingy. Yesterday she takes the truck to the shop and has the FRAC harness and camera installed.
    She's a keeper no doubt! Shop kid says easiest harness and camera he has ever installed. Instructions were a breeze! Total down time was about 1hr and $100 bill.

    Thanks for a great product

    Just let me know. I've got plenty of parts on hand to build one for you!

    The FRAC Harness provides the Front/Rear Anytime Camera function and the Vehicle in Motion (VIM) enable. The VIM feature allows you to access all Navigation menus, all the time.

    I did originally play around with a Phone mirroring function, but I wasn't happy with the video quality and the time/cost of adding that feature in to the harness. So I decided not to sell that feature.

    Are there any newer cams out there? I’m going to be ordering a harness in the not so distant future and wondering if any new technology is out there that’s worth while... you know like flir or laser targeting for dumb drivers cross hairs etc.

    Oz, the technology in the cameras linked below is all basically the same and all pretty bulletproof; for $15 - $30.

    I don't include any target acquisition or guidance algorithms with the FRAC harness. That option is reserved for authorized military users only :)
