Just out of curiosity, are those 3 wires 20's or 18's? I have a couple different gauges on-hand, maybe even the same colors if the sizes match up.

I too had issues with switch locations as all the one to the left were filled as well as the three to the right. I tried this and seems to be working fine. Got the dash panel insert for the trailer brake and trimmed to fit three switch holder for three rockers.

damn! i wish i could get that camera switch, but it won't fit the oem holes . looks nice the way you did it but I don't think it'd be worth it for me for just 1 switch.

What power wire did you tap into for the switch lights?

The individual camera wires from the FRAC harness are jumped over to the individual light circuit leads. The only drawback, is there is no led for the dash light circuit, only one for on/off for each camera.

Success!! It’s in and everything works!! So my only issue was where the switches had to go in my truck. Camera switch in blank that TundraTex sent went to the left of the steering wheel in my limited. So I did have to extend the red/whit/blue wires by like 6” or so. Re-crimped some connectors and it was good.

    4A7D5CAB-CEAC-4890-B72F-749FE20CE3BA.jpg

Then came the VIM switch (not in a blank) so I chose in the center panel between the security and aux spots. I had to drill a hole and unfortunately my step bit only goes up to 1/2” (I’m buying a bigger one now cuz they’re awesome) but anyways I had to file the hole to get it big enuff for the switch to snap in, so it was a little ratty but the switch snaps on and the bezel covers the edges of the hole so it came out nice after all.
    27FFDD92-0BB9-49B8-A554-BA3498985579.jpg

And just so you can see what it looks like on the backside of that panel. The vim switch is in the middle:
    8C9DB1A0-984D-4667-95E2-BFD3F5E11D3C.jpg
No clearance issues! Plenty of room to use the connectors.

Overall a great mod, and not too hard to do. Thanks again @TundraTex !

Nice work on the installation, @slide187. The VIM looks like it fits nicely in the spot you chose.

Thanks, yeah I like it there and I don’t mind being able to see it. One thing I did notice about my camera in the logo, it’s a little crooked... I’ll post a pic when I get a chance. It sits in the logo fine, like the housing looks level/str8, but the picture is tilted a bit. Probly just a Chinese $29 camera QC issue. Haha

So here’s a shot of the camera installed:
    5CA524B2-0987-49DF-82C5-B3C877A85C05.jpg

Here’s a shot of how I parked str8 on with the joint between my garage concrete and driveway asphalt:
    0A02F6A5-F601-400F-A12D-15691F3D2AAE.jpg

And here’s what the camera sees:
    4549E202-21CD-4F4F-B15C-A78C01132971.jpg

Basically looks rolled to the right. I’m gonna see if they’ll send me another one, cuz there’s no alignment to be done on the truck, it just fits into the emblem and when you tighten it, it’s aligned. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

    TundraTex,
I'm just about ready to place an order for your FRAC harness. It looks great. I was wondering if anyone installed the video recorder you linked above? Does it record continuously even with the engine off?

Also I was thinking of putting the switches as shown in my attached jpg. Can you supply the Blank with the CAM switch installed?

Thanks for coming up with a great looking product!

@2018 TRD Sport, I can definitely supply the cam select switch bezel per your request.

As of today, I am awaiting a few parts for my next production run of harnesses. One of my vendors dropped the ball and I'm on about a 4-week waiting period for the parts I need.

Once I get everything in stock, I can turn an order very quickly.

I'll be happy to take your order and put you on the waiting list, but I don't want to invoice you and take your money before I can quickly deliver your FRAC harness kit.

Go ahead and send me your information and I'll advise you as soon as I get more parts in. Sorry for the back order delay.

@TRD Sport18, forgot to answer your recorder question. The front camera, as currently designed, is powered on with Ignition voltage, which means it is not powered while the key is not in the on position. I was planning to power the recorder with the same power wire as the camera, so it would only be active when the camera is active.

It would work with the engine off, if you wired the camera power and recorder power directly to the battery, rather than to the FRAC harness power lead. But you would then run the risk of draining your battery if you were parked for extended duration.

It wouldn't be too difficult to wire in a separate cam/recorder battery, but I haven't looked at that option at this point.

@Young80i, your FRAC will ship Friday or Saturday this week.

You got the last one available from my second production run!

EDIT: Vendor issues and backorders were causing delays but they have been resolved. FRAC harnesses are again in production and available.

Do a search for @BlueBottle's FRAC installation. I think a lot of Pro Grill guys are doing what he did.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯ so the seller of the camera didn’t answer me so I bought another of the same kind and installed it today, success! It’s straight on!

I squared everything off to check haha. So the other one was defective. So I just returned it via Amazon with the wiring from the new one. Easy peasy.
