    Hey Tundra Family!!

Bruce here - one of the founding members and leadership team for the Tundras to Sedona Event. @KevinK has gone ahead and told me to post up a thread.

The moment you’ve all been waiting for...Tundras to Sedona 2021 is October 18-24! The adventure begins here! #t2s2021

This is the official Tundras to Sedona 2021 Thread. Please post all questions here and check back for the OP for updated information on registration and details on the event. For those who don't know what this is.

Tundras to Sedona is the largest annual off-road event for Toyota Tundras in North America - probably the world, but we don’t want to brag.

    Thanks,
    T2S Leadership Team!

Please Check out our Facebook Page for event details as well. See Link Below And of course, check out the official T2S Webpage

I just remember, was it 4 or 5 years ago, in May when it was windy and cold AF. The travel trailer I rented broke, batteries and generator died = no heat. :(

was that the first year? 2015? Or maybe the second year?
2015 was like 18 degrees the first night. I had been looking at weather for Sedona but we were way up on the Rim instead. 2016 wasn’t much warmer.

we purposely go when it’s a bit chilly to limit bugs and tourists.

Actually, the wife just looked it up and said 2017. All I know is that we left Tucson when it was near 100 and in Sedona it was windy and cold as fuck. Luckily for me all Kohls had left for jackets (off season) right before we left was a size 4x. That way I was able to wear 4 sweatshirts under it.
Also, I remember someone (thinking it was you for some reason) totally destroying their front suspension and everybody chipping in at night to band-aid it back together.
I did, however, win a sweet set of LED lights that to this day are mounted behind the grill of my truck.

Oh man yeah, 2017 was awesome! And yes, that was the year I blew a shock in the Cinders and we rebuilt it in camp with everyone’s help. Used an oak log as a jack stand and ratchets straps as spring compressors.

@KevinK i think i should post up pictures of me fixing everyone else broken stuff... its a theme for me there.... and this year clint and I and my buddy Stu will be providing trail repair and camp repair services. Im bringing a variety of tools, welder, spare parts, jacks etc. we wont really be running trails like normal. But if you break and you call me, i can come give you a hand on the trail.

    Mods, what mods?
I read the webpage and the Facebook group posts, but need a little clarification.

From my understanding, the event over a week long and trail runs will be organized throughout the event. How will trail registration be handled? Will it be organized like it was in 2019?

Are radios recommended? Recovery gear? I have stock suspension, so I would love to go on the beginner/intermediate trails. :anonymous:

Reg will be similar to 2019.

you will choose trails based on skill and truck setup ie beginner, intermediate and advanced, 2wd friendly, 4x4 with mods required, etc. I will say we have seen a few 2wd stock trucks go on the hardest trails, it's not easy its slow, and good driving is required but it can be done if you are looking for a challenge and don't mind a few sierra stripes LOL

You can sign up for just the days you will be attending. You are not required for an all-or-nothing registration. You can just come for a few days and only sign up for trails on the days you will be attending.

There will be a trail leader for each group and there will be someone in the rear of the group and both those trucks will have comms. We utilize HAM base stations and handheld radios on private non-repeater channels. I highly suggest anyone coming to have Comms in their truck that supports 140-155mhz some radios will need a mod to hit the race frequencies. Please let me know if you have questions about this. As far as recommendations. I utilize the Kenwood TM-281 for my base station and carry a pair of Beaufang handheld as backup or when I need to get out of the truck and still have comms with folks in my group. Everyone has different requirements but the base I use has great distance capabilities and is very user-friendly. And relatively cost-effective.

As far as tools and recovery gear. Each truck should carry standard recovery and hand tools. Some folks like myself will have a much broader and larger set of tools and gear, but you should at least have a strap, basic hand tools to fix your own truck, etc. I can say lots of folks who are there have extensive kits in their trucks and will gladly help you if you need it but don't always expect others to jump in because you didn't want to bring your own stuff. But as I said many are ready willing and able to help.

Let me know what other questions you have
