The Cummins life hasnt been bad so far

 

That's a good looking truck. Loved my Cummins.

 

I had a Duramax years ago... I do miss DieselLife at times.

 

Yup. The diesel pulled in a way that gassers just can't, but the extra cost to keep it going was the killer. That and diesels hate cold weather.

 

Yep the way this thing pulls is way different than a gas engine. My goal is strictly staying on top of maintenance to hopefully minimize long term costs.

 

Don't tell anyone, but sometimes I cry myself to sleep missing my 02 5 speed..

 

Solid plan, and I hope that truck treats you well. I would have loved to go with an HD truck but it just didn't make sense as a daily driver and single vehicle. The ability to tow big toys is kick ass though.

 

It's a tough business case today unless you're doing a lot of towing. With all the emissions stuff and added complexity, it's a risk no matter what brand. Oh, but the driving...all that torque. There's something about climbing a mountain pass at 70mph running 1,300 (purring) RPMs that's almost sinfully gratifying.

Was just cleaning up from some garage/house chores and saw I had a companion chilling on the truck. You ever have one those situations where you're walking around (like at work) in a zone and open a door only to find someone already there? That quick shutter-flinch you do? I turned around from 10' away and somehow we locked eyes. He didn't move, but was staring at me like I'd murdered his family. No idea how my eyes locked onto him, but did a beautiful stutter-flinch.

Thankfully he hung around long enough for me to grab my phone...then took off.

I'm dragging...We stayed up too late finishing the final season of Vikings last night, then the show haunted my dreams. The past few seasons haven't been much to talk about, but the final two episodes were really good. Now I can get caught up on The Expanse...

It's my Monday, and graveyard shift, and I have failed miserably at sleeping. Gonna be a fun one! Red Bull is in the fridge on standby.

 

I took the day off, so it is going well so far. Although we don’t have power so chilling in the dark....

 

Well that's good, and bad, right? A day off is good, but no power would suck. Well, here it would. Not sure you guys get cold enough to freeze your pipes in the night.

We always keep some oil lamps or lanterns around. Makes for nice lighting in the power outages. Good enough for card games or even to read.

We're just across the lake from you and everything I've seen over here is good to go.

 

Not cold enough right now, but still expect it to drop into the high 30s tonight. House will be cold.

We have all the gear we need. This is exactly why I pay the extra $ for the side burner on my bbq. Just broke out the lanterns and are playing card games with the kids.

Only real emergency right now is I ate the last of the oreos...

Yeah, it is strange the way PSE is restoring power. Lots of small pockets are getting their power back and large areas are in the dark. There is prob a method to the madness, but who knows.

Sounds like you have it all in hand. Good blankets and a dog to snuggle and nobody will freeze. Jumping jacks work wonders for warming up too.

Power outages EVERYWHERE tonight. I brought that red bull in case it was slow and I struggled to stay awake.... I've been making and taking phone calls like a teenage girl tonight! Hurricane force winds are hell on power systems. Nothing new, but it's a busy monday. Hate having to call the poor bastards on call at these kinds of late hours too.
