Right? I told him we should have taken my Tundra. Then I was gonna call The Woman and have her drive my Tundra down for the recovery, then I could have painted a recovery logo on my truck. :D But nnnooooooo.....

Your truck totally would’ve pulled that turd out. Oh well, I’m sure he already knew a good towing company eh? (weird coincidence)

The best part was, it was a GM 1/2 ton that pulled him out. Just need that little extra tug so my Tundra would have had no problem.

Odds are though, my truck probably wouldn't have gotten stuck. Narrower stance to keep it between the ruts, lighter so it wouldn't sink and much more aggressive tires.

Heck, the dang tires don't seem to have much tread for any kind of mud, the passenger mirror is duct'd taped, and it's white. What could possibly go wrong..........?

The tires are actually almost new, but they're just basic all seasons not even all terrains. Our northern Alberta mud is really thick, sticky crap. It'll gum up tires and pack regular treads to the point you have slicks. It's one reason I run Cooper ST Maxx rather than a less aggressive A/T.

I gave my buddy supreme shit and will continue to do so. LOL. In his defence the truck is cosmetically rough, but mechanically sound. Well, other than the newly busted driveshaft.

My brother lives up north and is thinking to run ATs or MTs year round because he's too lazy to switch back and forth to snow tires.

That's pretty common. Lots of guys run Duratracs, K02s or similar tires with the snowflake rating year round. I did it up until 2 years ago before buying studded Nokian Hakkapellitas. It works fine but I like the advantages of dedicated studded winter tires. Takes me an hour to swap both the truck and car over in November and gives us that little extra control and stopping ability. Worth every penny.

I'm still looking for winter tires and rims for my truck.

Nokian Hakkapellita and Bridgestone Blizzak came out on top in my research. Michein X-Ice have good reviews too.

Yeah, my biggest question now is size. Someone on here told me not all 17" wheels fit so I may just go with my stock size (275/65R18) or go to a narrower 18. (Think it would be 255/70R18 if I recall correctly?)

Interesting, I have no idea. I used my OEM 16" wheels and tire size for my winters. My ST Maxx are on 17" wheels and are 265/70/R17.
