You do need one Dan. I took back my igrill3 today and had my local Ace order an igrill 2. The 3 is for the Genesis models. Same as the 2 but the 3 snaps into place on the Genisis and has several other cool features. Check it out on Webers' site. I decided to not try to mod the 3 to my 22" Performer. Easier to use the 2. Highly recommend. While I'm waitinga few days for my igrill2... I bought a Weber single probe Mini "me" igrill. $50. Very cool and worth the $50. Same app..same features...

Dealer wants $1005. Yikes! And it definitely has to get replaced as the crack grew overnight so it's about a foot long.

damn $1K? is that for an OEM windshield? I had my windshield replaced recently with an aftermarket brand for $475. I took the truck to a service shop that my local dealer uses exclusively for bodywork. I cant tell the different between the OEM and aftermarket windshields.

You should tell that dealer to stick it where the sun don't shine. $1000 bucks for a windshield? In South Carolina, insurance companies are required to cover windshields free of charge, 2 per year.

Doesn't insurance cover that since it is a safety hazard having a cracked windshield?

Haven't checked with them yet, but that's a good idea. It's been that way for around a year. Won't worry about it until it needs a safety to get registered, or I get pulled over for it.

My insurance doesn't cover windshields unless you sign up for the add on for that type of coverage. I think its around $15 per month. Also a $50 deductible.
That is $180 i would pay each year + $50 when replacing.
If i replace every year then it is a good deal but if i don't then its more expensive. Add another vehicle to the plan and double those numbers.
I was quoted $350 one time for a replacement on mine but decided to wait.

    Replace each year = $230
    Replace every 2 years = $410
    Replace every 3 years = $590

I don't think i would replace the window every year. It has to be cracked to a certain point for insurance to cover it otherwise they only cover the chip repair.
