I wish it had got there soon enough to help with the fires.

How is the family you're putting up doing?

They came from Fl last year; so a culture shock, but they’re strong.
I’m collecting donations they asked —
    Household items.
The father / dad is now plenty re-loaded on ammo.

Oh, so that's going to be culture and climate shock. Then add this trauma. Not a great way to start the year, but they can only go up from here.

Everything about that is awful. Give it 30 years and that'll be the electric trucks. With motors at the wheels and the frame being the batteries they'll put in a frunk and you're pic won't be too far off.

Tell you what, the more I see of this thing the more I like it. I like the direction Ford is going with things like the 3D printing and such. Anyway, for a city 'truck" I think this would be my pick. It's not stupidly priced, has plenty of payload for what most people need, and as long as you don't need to tow it'd be a great little rig. Reliability remains to be seen, but maybe the simplicity will bode well for it.

I agree, as long as they don't have any outstanding reliability issues this would be a great vehicle for a whole bunch of people.

Not a bad price at all for what you get, especially the awd model.
That would work for a lot of people, unfortunately most of those people would let their self-image get in the way of the purchase.

I agree. Rewind the clock 3 years to where I was looking for something to handle winter snow that my WRX couldn't and had this been around I know I would have bought one. Put in a wee lift for snow clearance and I think it might actually be ok. 8.3 inches of ground clearance stock, so with a 2 inch lift it's be in par with the Tundra. Has more payload too! Alas, it wasn't out then and in the intervening time I got into the SxS hobby so I don't think it'd quite cut it now.

I'd rather have something like a Toyota Matrix but I get that the entire market is moving to trucks and SUVs these days.

I kinda see the maverick as the rebirth of the old Rangers. You know, when they were small. It's been a missing segment for a long time.

Holy crap. I'm glad that year is over, but this one is sure starting off poorly. So much chaos the last week at work. I've got today and tomorrow, and I'm really hoping it can just be quiet for once.

You have work, and if you're getting chaos shovelled at you, someone thinks you're part of the solution. The year is starting off great.

LMAO! You're optimism is sorely misplaced. I was the one watching for the chaos, and I shoveled it to others for resolution. There has just been a ton of stuff breaking due to high winds, low temps, and bizarre humidity.

Take them out and white wash them. Then tell them it will happen again every time they disturb you.

I like that in white. Very nice. Not sure how it stacks up against the Outback though. Don't know their spec differences.

Agree, I really like it white.

Hopefully our local Wilderness expert can shine some light on the differences. :D
