And if they don't they're nuts. I lived in Gilbert, AZ for a winter. Absolutely 100% believe God was saying "Don't live here!" when he made it that feckin' hot. :bananadead:

@AzureNightmare sorry to hear about the back pain. That chit sucks. I hope things get better sooner rather than later.

After the heat we had here earlier this week, I’m definitely eliminating some places from the retirement “map”. Sometimes a warm day feels good but that was nuts. You should never be chased indoors by the heat during summer.

Thank you for the well wishes.

I agree on the heat. If it only hits triple digits for a few days, I'm ok with that as long as the rest of the summer isn't over 80-85 and there is AC available. However, The sustained 90+ degrees with frequent spikes over the century mark is just hell to me. Southern Utah comes to mind. I have a brother who is the opposite though. He would rather have the Southern Utah weather with very little cold during the year.

If it wasn't so goddamn expensive and if my wife liked being on the water more, Hawaii would be my retirement dream.

    Well, where do I start?

2 weeks ago - "can you fly to UT earlier than expected?" (taking over a large account)
    - Absolutely. Whatever makes us successful for this!"
-Begin working on an action plan with itemized list / dates / who / etc
-I fly in Sat and help train my staff. I am issued the digital room key to my room. I utilize it, and walk into an ALREADY OCCUPIED room! I backed up and went to the front desk who promptly gave me a new room.

Sun: I'm At the hotel bar for food and a beer. This gentleman keeps trying talking to me. I let him talk as I could see he just wanted someone to talk to and was bored. The same guest then goes on about his divorce so I let him keep talking.

    - Bar is closing so he asks if I wanted to grab a beer at the bar across the street, I said sure.
    - We go to the bar, and I order a beer
-Proceed out outside and sit down

Things are great at this point. Sitting down, on a nice day enjoying a beer.

    - Fast forward a few mins two "ladies" come and sit down with us. I quickly realize, these are not females. The guy I was with engages them, and I just sit and drink my beer. One asked "is this your first time here?" I advise it is, and it's my last time.

Moments later the "waiter/ess" come over and the guy I was with proceeds to get up, and lays down on his lap. I chug my beer, and tell him I'll be right back. I fast walked back to the hotel to my room.

Monday: Gearing up for this account. We had hired a large amount of employees for this. This client had an internal disagreement with two outside vendors then where we were stuck in the middle of it, and stopped the move all together. Now, I need to find new jobs for a large amount of employees.

Monday night I go back to the hotel bar to order food. I asked the bartender if he recalls the gentleman I was with. I then proceed to tell him the story how I got dragged into a transbar, unknowingly. The bartender, who has been in this area for 21 years says he's never heard of one nearby, and proceeds to ask Siri in a loud voice "Siri, where is the nearest trans bar?" Now, I have two other males and an older couple staring at me and had to explain it wasnt for me, and the backstory.

Tues: Wake up to go eat, and grab Starbucks. I set the coffee on-top of their hand sanitizer station as I adjusted my wallet. The sanitizer station, then breaks apart, spilling hot coffee on my dress shirt, pants, and shoes. I didnt bring a back-up of dress clothes so I rush up-stairs, back to my room, drench a towel to attempt to clean the coffee followed by ironing it, so it can dry.

Wed: Day is going well'ish. Few hiccups in other regions I was fixing. Then last night, I take an Lyft to 7-11 to grab almonds and more water. I get out of the Lyft, upon exiting back to the hotel and the driver leaves. I realize my phone slipped out of my pocket. Hotel clerk Googles the phone number of Lyft. I called, but there is no operator after hours and it prompts me to log into my account via web. The hotel clerk pointed me to the nearest computer (saving me time having to rush to my room via elevator) That computer does not have access to anything outside of airlines. Hotel clerk then tells me the computer next to it will allow me to.

I get on, realizing I dont know my password for that account as its stored on my (missing) phone. I hustle back to the room and finally figured out my password for Lyft. Lyft only lets me send a message to the driver followed by "Driver will call you when he can from the number stored on your acct." Great, thats my cell phone :notsure:
I remember I pay for an additional line for my iWatch hoping that will work. Driver calls me 20 mins later saying he's coming back! :woot:

There are a lot of additional details from this horrific trip I wont include, but these are the highlights.

That’s nuts. If that all happened to me, I’d crawl into my kids’ treehouse with a case of beer, a bag of pretzels and a pillow. Tell the fam I’ll be back at some point…

I’m going to fire up the Blackstone this eve (at airport now) enjoy a drink or three with the wife, and fall asleep. I’m over this week.

Didn't sleep as much as I would have liked, but my back feels like it's at about 90%. Still get some hands of pain, and walk funny, but it didn't take me 30 minutes to get stood up today. Progress! :muscleflexing:
