Takin my 17 tundra that I just got on her first road trip this weekend. In total it should be around 1800 miles round trip including stops and sight seeing. I’m excited. Will post updates after trip on how she handled. I expect nothing but good things. Maybe even take some cool pics along the way

Thanks! We were gonna go in the Jeep but we both said no the Tundra when I got it last week. Gonna be very comfortable. I’m amazed by how much room these trucks have

Where are you going? Bring lots of gas money, at least $400 for the trip.

So far the truck is amazing and comfortable. It actually has gotten better gas mileage than we thought. 832 miles only filled up 2.5 times and still have 1/2 a tank that we are driving on where we are staying. Got that same drive back in a few days but will be split into halves. 13 hours straight yesterday was long but comfortable in this beast. Very happy with the get up and go. People just get out of my way! You go 90mph without evening knowing it and have to tap them brakes so the po po don’t stop us. Will continue to update

Made it home! In total I put 1700 miles on her in four days. Two of which were 13 hours straight each time. Truck ran without a hickup and ran strong! Took 2 1/2 tanks up to EasternTennessee and the same back home to Texas. Ran 80-90 the whole way and even got her up to 100 a few times. I’m in love with the truck! Can’t wait to take it out some more. Gonna take it slow tomorrow and clean her up really nice and get ready for some mall crawling instead of highway rollin for a while.

I think at 100 mph it was being measured in gpm not mpg...

Awesome to hear you enjoyed the truck! I’m newer to the tundra, and also enjoying the heck out of it. Will be doing roughly the same distance(first road trip) as you this weekend. Definitely looking forward to it!

Lol at the times I wasn’t going 100. I was getting close to 17mpg. 18 was my best. I averaged 14 in city and 16 highway. In the mountains I didn’t really pay attention as I knew it was changing all the time on different grades. But if I had to guess 10-14ish

I just took a trip in my 2019 from Arkansas to Branson, Missouri which is a pretty hilly trip. Averaged 19.1.

Last year I went from Phoenix to Omaha and back (about 2600 miles) towing a small car one way and just the empty 20ft flatbed trailer back home. Averaged 14.5 mpg for the entire trip and that was doing about 75mph. I was really surprised how well it did.

First leg of the drive of about 306 miles, I got 16.6 (manually calculated) computer shows 16.2 not bad, combination of hills and straights.

Second leg starting out even better, 17.4 on the computer. I'll and calculate it later when I get to the hotel and fill up.

Compared to my Chevy on the same drive, it got 20. That's one thing I miss. Lol

Update: second leg was 312.5 miles, filled up with 16.894 gallons @ $2.99/gallon Costco in Vacaville Ca.. I did 18.4 mpg. Not bad at all..

Filling up I did two click method. Hopefully it's correct. My full tank does only 485 miles that I can go. Does that sound right for a 38 gallon tank?
