Not sure of the price just yet, but it will just be an upgrade. I will still have the Hayden 778HD as the standard.

Ok in 2-weeks of driving temps went over 175F once and hit 197F after driving for an hour and a half in mixed town/highway driving. My point...an external cooler certainly makes sense for some, slow trail driving and frequent heavy towing, but it's not absolutely necessary if you have a glam-truck like mine.

Received my Transmission Kit today from UPS. Packaged nicely. Thanks Nick. I will see if I can install this week and post my results. Nick does an professional job with the packing and the cooler mounting bracket is very well done.

    Thanks Nick
Received my kit today. If I hadn’t ordered this myself and instead received it as a gift, I would have thought it was an OEM kit. Great job.ED4C0473-16DF-41D1-91E0-90393FEAD65B.jpg

All kits will ship 10-Nov. The shop I have fabbing the brackets took a couple days longer to make than what they were entisipating and they are estimated to arrive 9-Nov.

    Sorry for the delay.

Are there any experiences towing without a transmission cooler with out issues? I plan on towing my 17 boat and have my ATV in the bed.

    tl;dr

If your Tundroid is 2019 or newer and you attach ANYTHING to your hitch then you are screwed. The popular opinion is add a vapor-to-liquid heat exchanger. Liquid-to-liquid systems are to be avoided at all costs.

Your the only one that should decide that. Monitor your transmission temps with the fussion app and decide.

I tow a 6k pound trailer often without issues. But I'm guessing maybe you mean transmission temps under a certain threshold?

Here is a collected data from me towing a 4000lb trailer in MA mostly flat with some rolling hills . I tow on s4 with tow haul on and I keep it at 60 mph . I average 215 on pan . The sample has an hour of towing each direction

That's the thing, you can put it in 4S and it does help control the temps on flat land but run up a mountain and when the trans shifts to 3 and the converter unlocks watch the temps reach 250f and higher. Also 4S sucks for fuel mileage. With the cooler put the truck in D and push the tow haul button and drive. Better fuel mileage and you dont even have to think about trans temps.

Right , if you tow heavy and year long , would put a cooler for sure . I tow like 8 times tops a year when we go camping , been to Vermont and new hamshire and honestly it kept temps around 218 on pan for me unless I stop on tolls and accelerate, torque c would go to upper 230 and comes back down once it locks .
Thinking of adding the cooler myself maybe at a later stage as i plan to keep the truck

How much difference will you get between D and S4 pulling a 6k lb trailer? Maybe 9 mpg vs. 8 mpg?

I've tested that on out last trip out west. Pulling a 5.5K RV about 1-2mpg. I was getting between 10 and 12mpg if I kept my speed around 65mph. 2mpg makes a big difference towing for 5,000 miles on an extended trip and not having to worry about what the temps are getting to is another big plus.

You get much better mpg than I do in either D or S4 at 60-65. I'll quit now and let OP get back to selling cooler kits.

An external cooler is a must. I have a 2020 Tundra and the warning light came on towing our 5700 lb trailer. I bought the OBD 2 sensor and driving without the trailer hit 222 degrees in under 20 min. I did fight with Toyota over the non-existent cooler. Long story short they didnt do much. I did get one installed. Rated at 18000 lbs of towing. I cant break 200 degrees now even after hours of driving.

Since installing cooler I haven't seen a pan temp above 196F, Pulling 5Klb boat at 75mph or hauling ATV's. I beginning to think there is ZERO advantage to even a thermostat to get trans temp up, but I could be wrong. My 2001 Lexus transmission fluid is 110F after 45 minutes of interstate driving. I doubt it ever sees 160F. I had a solenoid go out at 168K miles and when I dropped the pan the fluid appeared NEW, original owner. I not monitoring trans temps anymore, no reason to. Again this is a GREAT kit!!

Hahaha...yea I was most likely adding a trans cooler anyway, so when I saw his post asking for someone to make a video, it was a win win...word on the streets is I’ve been known to do a couple “how to” videos here and there...lol!
