@chasenicholas93 for the MHX I'm assuming you don't need to pull the bumper for install, just happened to have your bumper off? I don't have the Magnussen yet or maybe ever but should I request the SC friendly bracket/spacer if it is a possible future mod? Thanks.

 

The bumper doesn't have to come off.

 

I only removed the factory bumper because I am installing a C4 bumper. The only thing you'll need to remove is the grill to complete the install.

 

This is with the grill on. The cooler is designed to be placed directly behind the grill opening for max airflow.

 

I can send you both spacers in case you choose to go either way.

 

Just did some testing in 4x4 for about 30 minutes in southern California with the MHX 514. Pan temps never reached past 185°F.

 

I've got temps in the 220's ATF Pan and higher torque convertor temps just driving it without towing.

I bought the MHX kit because I don't want any problems when towing, which I will be doing.

 

Do I qualify for the discount? I bought my kit on Jan 24th.

 

It looks like the cooler is very visible through the grill from this picture. Is it very noticeable? Could you apply a light coat of black spray paint. Thanks in advance,

 

Eastwood sells black paint that is specifically designed for use on radiators. I can’t speak for using it on a trans cooler, but I’ve used it on a number of radiators with no issues.....both on old-school copper/brass and modern aluminum radiators. It’s thinner than standard spray paint.

 

I wouldn't spray paint it. If your looking for something black that won't be as noticeable you'll have to go with the Setrab kit.

The setrab will be just as effective as the MHX if the thermostat is not bypassed. The Setrab by no means is a small cooler that will not keep transmission temperatures under control. I don't have official comparisons of each cooler tested under the same conditions however, the Setrab will maintain 185-205° ATF temperatures just as the MHX will with the thermostat not bypassed. Hope that makes sense.

 

Just to be sure, since I'm getting ready to order.

Thermostat bypassed = pin installed

Thermostat not bypassed = pin removed

 

Yes sir, it’s crystal clear and sounds like the Setrab will be the one to get. I was like many here that was extremely surprised that there is no cooler on these anymore. I was honestly going to back away from buying one until I read about you and your cooler kit. The installation video was also extremely well done. Thanks again.

Great, you won't be disappointed with the Susa, I'm extremely impressed with the quality of their products. The install was very well done. Although it is a different cooler, the instructions to install all the Toyota plumbing and ATF level check remain the same.

I reformatted my website a little bit to prevent confusion. I added "Toyota Plumbing Parts" as an add on to either transmission cooler kit. You'll need to purchase the Toyota plumbing parts from the website or through the dealership of your choice to complete the install.

Got my kit today. It was well packaged. Thanks.

 

Monitored temp for the past 400+ miles.
Never went above 210 with 20 average exterior temp.
Load was minimal (700lbs max with passenger).
I do believe that with an external temp around 60-70 I will quickly go above the 220.
Can you confirm an order on Monday (the 15th) will still benefit the 10%?
