Pin in allows the fluid to circulate through the cooler to obtain the correct level during the check. Pull the pin when your done allows the thermostat to work as intended.

My instructions specifically state to have the pin in during the level check and to check for leaks. You only remove it after you are complete with the install.

Setrab CAD file almost complete. Attached is a picture of the MHX 514 and the Setrab Series-9 15 row next to each other.

Setrab will fit 2011-2021 Tundra's and work in conjunction with the factory transmission cooling system for the 2011-2018.

MHX will fit 2019+ only, bigger unit, more cooling capacity, better quality over the Hayden.

    MHX-514 kit.

AN fittings are included that will run behind the cooler to connect the hoses. No hose clamps required.

Do you think you can mount the cooler flipped with connectors facing the left side?

I didn't add notches on the other side. If you drill holes in your wind deflector and run the hoses to that side the hoses would kink because they would need to bend at a 90° sharp angle to reach the ports on the cooler. With that said, if you have the Stillen intake with their wind deflector, the hoses would not kink on the other side but 99% of people don't have a Stillen intake so I left out the notches to add additional strength in the bracket.

Do you have some shots with the grill on?

I don't unfortunately as I have my full front end of my truck taken apart however, it will fit center directly behind the grill opening for maximum airflow just like the Hayden did.

Are you installing this newer cooler or the Hayden from the original kit?

Here is an example where the MHX will be placed behind the grill. This is a Hayden cooler but it is in the same location as the MHX.

Would this cooler setup allow for the use of pre 2018 grill?

I keep toggling between the MHX 514 and the Setrab Series-9...I think I like the Setrab more due to the compactness.

Yes, that was a limitation for the Hayden bracket but the mhx and setrab brackets will fit the earlier model grills now.

Gotcha. Was just curious. @2020Platinum has an excellent installation video of the original Hayden kit on his channel. Put the inlet and outlet hoses on the thermostat before you install it. The hoses do go on a certain way as well. I also figured out that when installing the hard lines above the cross member, rotate them on a 360 degree roll as you go and they will go right in. You learn trick like this working on jet engines.

I would have to measure the total surface area for each design but the MHX and Setrab will be very similar in "compactness".

Forgot to mention....the VeePeak Bluetooth adapter is what most of us use for the temp monitoring. Some guys bought different ones and they didn't work that well. Even the Hayden cooler is nice. I just pulled a 4000 lb camper, gear for 4, 4 people, and 2 full coolers. Outside temp was 65 and my average temp was 191.

This average temp of 191 pulling your camper, therm pin or unpinned ?
    Thanks

Unpinned. The pin is removed after the install and fluid servicing. @chasenicholas93 can confirm this.

Correct, I recommend you remove the pin after install is complete. You can always pin your thermostat if you'd want constant flow to the cooler but I'd only do that if your towing.

Complete kits for the MHX and Setrab coolers will be available in February. The kits will include all the parts needed (including Toyota parts) to complete the install.
