Attempting to buy 2017 Tundra 1794 but stop sale is preventing it, I'm in Poway, CA. Dealership stated that they will not be able to sale this vehicle until sometime in March when the replacement bumper bracket is available.

Tell them you either drive it home, or you cancel the sale. You'll be amazed how fast they either drop the price, or cough up a free loaner until yours is ready.

Does anyone know if the 2016 brackets will fit? Maybe with a little modification?

Just went through all this. Started with a deal on a 1794 and after a week (and being told to expect a 30-60 day wait), I went in and bought a new sr5. Didn't have to wait and saved $8k.

Yes. Any trim level with sonar/backup sensors has the resin brackets. Being the sr5 doesn't have sonar, they have a steel bracket.

Does the stop sale affect ALL Tundras, even the ones manufactured AFTER the bracket recall ends? As I understand it, the bumper bracket recall only affects Tundras made through late December 2016. I would think Tundras made after that time would not be affected.

I've got a 2017 SR5 that I picked up x-mas eve. No issues, no recall. I don't have the parking sensors though.

SR5 isn't a guarantee that you don't have BSM/Sonar - I have an SR5 with the TRD Offroad package and have BSM and sonar and all the stuff. There is an active recall for my VIN.

I've got the SR5 TRD off road as well. Mine has bench seat. Not the SR5 upgrade package. Didn't want the centr console. I don't have, didn't want, backup sensors. Therefore my bumper has steel support brackets.
It's easy to punch your vin into that site to check your particular truck.
