Looking to purchase Fox 2.5 non resi coilovers for my 2019 Tundra Crewmax and just wondering how much lift you guys are getting right out of the box? I’m trying to get about 3 inches of lift to be at 40 inches on both passenger and drivers side. Anyhow, I’m trying to figure out my settings before I install them because it sounds difficult to adjust them post install. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!!

You won't be disappointed. I have 2.5 resi and love them. Mine came really high, probably 4.5". I have mine with basically no threads showing to get a 3" lift (25" from center hub to fender). Very easy to adjust once installed. Jack up one side til tire spins. Loosen collar set screw maybe one full turn then use a 3/8 punch to turn the collar. Since they are new you won't have to worry about dirt under the collar but as you drive, it's good to clean the threads if you want to adjust them. Also, spray the threads with wd-40. After adjustment make sure you get in the truck and drive it back and forth a few feet a few times so they settle to correct height. Also, before you install, make sure that the collar set screw is pointed out so when you install it is not behind and unable to be loosened.

Passenger side has barely one thread showing and driver side has like three threads to account for driverside gas tank lean.

Dont loosen the set screw too much or you will jump threads and be up shit Creek. Loosen then try to turn collar. If you can't, loosen a little more. The collar will take a little muscle to turn and won't be "easy" but once you get going you'll be good.

I believe the non resis only come in 0-2” lift, while the resi coils you can pick 0-2” or 0-3” versions. The 0-3” do require UCA’s too though. Keep in mind lots of are reporting more than advertised lifts, like @monaco730 said above. I myself am getting the 0-3” adjustable resi version installed in a week and a half. Really looking forward to that!

Oh ok yes my bad, read that wrong. I believe that is 100% correct. Non resi is only 0-2".

Yes, I know the non resi is advertised at 0-2 but it sounds like most people are getting 3-4 inches right out of the box.
Anyhow my buddy just offered me his OME 612’s (still in the box) for a deal I couldn’t pass up so the Fox will have to wait for now. I know the Fox are much better off road but my truck mostly stays on the pavement except to get me to and from the local motocross tracks. I’ve used the OME on my 14 Tundra and it’s a good coilover if your not doing any serious off-roading. Maybe I’ll upgrade to the Fox next year. Are most of you guys able to adjust you heights after the coilovers are installed like monaco730? Thanks for all the great info!!!

Besides cost, is there any other reason you don’t want reservoir’s?

I’m thinking non resi because I live in northern Illinois and our road salt and winters destroy everything... partly for the same reason I want to stay away from aftermarket UCAs and uni balls. And Then the less it costs the less it hiurts when our winters destroy it...lol

Would the Fox perform any better on road then the OME (old man Emu). I know the Fox is designed more for off road but some of our roads up here are pretty bad!

The resi's on mine were pretty stiff when first installed. They provided exactly 3" lift out of the box which was all I needed. After about 3000 miles they loosened up and provide a really good ride while keeping the truck under control. Very good shocks.

If you wanted to get a little less than 3 inches, it wouldn't work with these? I'm aiming for 2.75 maybe a quarter inch isn't going to make a difference. Just curious. I thought I had settled on icons, but now I'm not sure.

Mine also were Super high out of the box I have just a couple threads showing adjust them on the truck it’s the only way spray with some wd40 or something equivalent and it will help when turning that collar gotta jack the truck up to which I’m sure you know. Do hub to fender measurements to get your desired lift. I’m sitting at 25” both sides

Great info, thanks guys!!! I just couldn’t pass up the deal I got from my buddy on that new pair of OME 612 coil overs he had sitting in his garage. Just finished the install and I got just about 3 inches of lift. The ride is stiffer than stock “but in a good way” as many have described. Not sure how the OME compare to the Fox but probably best for my use and salty winter conditions... thanks again for everyone’s help. I’ll try to post some pics when I get my wheels/tires and coachbuilder rear shackels in a week or two.

So I liked the OME 612’s but just couldn’t get the Fox coilovers out of my head. I broke down and ordered the Fox 2.5 non resi coilovers. I know they are advertised as 0-2” but I also know guys are getting close to 4 inches out of the box. Is anyone running the 2.5 non resi? If so, what are yours set at and how much lift did you get? I’m still looking to stay right at 3”. Also installing BDS UCA’s with Moog ball joints (want to stay away from uni balls due to harsh winters and lots of road salt). Thanks in advance for all your help.

Amnesiac, did you get your 0-3” resis? What do you have them set at and how much lift did you get?

Another change of plans, I returned my order and upgraded to Fox 2.5 resi’s with 0-3” instead of 0-2”. Should complement my BDS UCA’s. A special thanks to vizsala for his advice on this upgrade!!!

So I haven't had a chance to measure yet, been crazy busy since I got everything installed. Will be taking good pictures this weekend and updating my build thread hopefully. That being said I would wager I got around 4" or so, that's with a little bit of preload on the coils. Between the Deaver K37's and the CB +3 shackles I put on, I raised the rear around 2", and I am currently sitting just smidge nose high I would say.

Here's a pic, albeit on a slanted surface which makes it look ass high.

I think this is a good call, I am absolutely loving mine so far. The most recent ones actually have all black reservoirs too instead of silver, which I like a lot more! I honestly feel like the ride is as good if not better than the stock TRD sport suspension. And I haven't even messed with the clickers yet. Matching 2.5 resis in the rear? Shackles? What's your plan?

Amnesiac, your truck looks great. I went back and forth between the SCS Ray 10’s and SR8’s in black, gun metal and bronze but ultimately decided on the black SR8’s to compliment my cement paint.
Looks like my Fox 2.5 resi’s (no DSC) 0-3” get delivered tomorrow.
In the rear I have couch builder +1 (.65 inche) shackles with a 1/2 leaf block on the driver side to help with the tundra lean. I don’t really like the 1/2” block only being on one side but my drivers rear was like 3/4” lower than the passenger side... Toytec sells this block just for this reason but it seems like a bad idea. Anyone have any better ideas? I currently have standard Fox 2.0 shocks and don’t do much off road but should probably upgrade those especially since I’ll probably need more lift in the rear if the new front coil overs put me above 3”. I guess it’s a work in progress but should be nice when it’s done thanks to everyone’s help here... thanks guys!!!

Amnesiac, are those Ridge Grappler 295/70/18’s and what UCA’s did you go with? Did you need a body mount chop? And if not, do you remember your caster number? Thanks!!!

Yes 295/70 RG's. SPC adjustable UCA's. No BMC, just trimmed the skid plate and the front plastic on the back side of the bumper. I can post a picture of my alignment numbers later today.

As far as your rear suspension setup goes, I would probably do a larger shackle and then potentially a shim in the front to correct the lean. Or just adjust that side to level out the lean. The rear shocks won't change your ride height. Those 0-3" coils with less than an of lift inch in the rear could put you pretty nose high with zero preload. I believe that @xtyfighterx is running a 1.5" shackle in the rear with the 2.5" fox coils and a shim.

I’m running a 2” shackle made by pro form fab. Check them out like $60 for a set super heavy duty.

Yeah, the plan per vizsala’s post is to run the passengers side preload with about 3 threads showing and about 6 ADDITIONAL threads showing on the drivers side to get me close to level and then adjust from there.... sounds like that should put me close to 3”.
I know the shocks don’t provide any lift. I’m waiting to install the coilovers to see how much bigger shackle I'll need for the rear. I’d love to do something about the extra 1/2” block on the drivers side rear.
Yes, I’d be interested to see your alignment numbers when you have time. I’d like to do a RG 295/70/18 but if it means a BMC with my BDS UCA’s then I will probably just drop down to a 285/70/18 and save 10lbs per tire and a little better GPM.
