i have the entune radio no navigation; bought the entune with navigation. Tried to hook it up today and wouldn’t work - microphone not detected, maps wouldn’t load and touchscreen wouldn’t work. I was under the impression these were plug and play. Is there something I am missing here?

Have you tried up dating the software?
There were quite a few topics that came up when I did a google search.

It didn't seem to complicated and only required a USB flash drive to download the software.

Can’t update the software; can get it past the audio off screen as nothing responds.

For those of us that have replaced our radios(with aftermarket) it might help if you take pictures. You double checked to make sure there weren't any wires left over in the dash that weren't used? Even wires that were not connected to your other radio

Yes I have double and triple checked. I have installed dozens of aftermarket stereos; this was supposed to be a direct swap. Model numbers double checked and cross referenced to make sure it should be compatible. It was packaged terribly for shipping and probably dropped at some point which I suspect is the issue. The back of the unit was sitting on the box and had a very thin layer of Styrofoam to protect it. I will take a video when I have time to remove the dash again and show everyone what the screen shows......if there was a way to access anything I would try the software update but I cant even cycle through the menu. Moral of the story is I spent $200 on a unit that is clearly not as described and the seller is accepting no responsibility saying it was used with no warranty. Lesson learned and looking into filing a paypal dispute.

Do you remember if there was a connection on the back of the radio that looked like it was connected back on itself?

Agreed; that is the only logical conclusion but seller is not willing to address that. wants to keep the money and leave me with a defective unit

I hate it for you. I had the same thing happen when I bought used recon headlights. The mounting tabs broke off during shipment from no packing in the box. I ended up plastic welding them back on and have been running them about a year now.

Ok, so I have tried to reach out to the individual for an amicable resolution. He has been less than helpful would be a gross understatement. I wanted a simple resolution to this. The scenario is this: I paid for a working "in perfect condition" stereo at an agreed upon price of $200. I paypal'ed the money (two separate payments as the seller was willing to take an initial deposit and then a day later sent the remaining balance). I received the stereo (completely inadequately packaged by the way) and attempted to hook it up. Touch screen inoperable, microphone couldn't be detected and maps wouldn't load. I contacted the seller right away to let him know that there was an issue with the functionality. His response was: post a question in the forum - you're hooking it up wrong. I have installed dozens of stereos and this is as simple as they come - plug and play. Posted the question anyway and received some feedback. Tried again and still doesn't work. Contacted seller again. Got feedback from others who think that the unit is probably defective as well. Let's be clear: I am NOT saying that the seller sold me a defective unit. But in shipping, probably because of the inadequate packaging, something obviously occurred that renders it useless to me. His response to that was "sell it; they go for way more on ebay". So I am going to sell a defective unit? Nah, not the way I operate. I have tried resolving through paypal (I sent friends and family so that I absorbed the fees trying to be a stand up guy. In doing so, I did not realize there is no buyer protection for me). I tried going through my bank, but its a debit card so there is no protection that way either. I offered to ship it back at my expense for a refund and the seller refused so that shows me that it was a shady transaction from the start. He has his money, unloaded the stereo and wants me to stake my reputation by selling a defective unit. I belong to many on line forums (over 20 years) and have NEVER had a disputed sale or purchase up until this. Pretty shady when a seller keeps $200 for a defective unit and offers no recourse. This will be a lesson learned.

If anyone wants to know who the seller is, I am happy to do so over private message. Deal with them at your own risk.

I only use friends and family on PP if they are ( friends and family), To easy to be taken advantage of by some POS seller. Couple dollars in PP fee's are worth the protection.

Yeah, trust me I have learned my lesson. I guess I have been lucky in the past in the literally dozens and dozens of transactions on other forums. Never again.

Not likely; at this point it seems I am out $200 and have a paperweight to show for it.

Sorry you got burned. I just replaced my 2 month old nav unit tonight; it's out of a 19 TRD Pro. If you want mine, you can have it. You pay packing and shipping of your choice (I'm going to have it bubble wrapped and boxed). Message me your address.

If it’s a forum member on here that did this to you he should definitely be outed publicly.
That way moderators can insure the seller doesn’t screw anyone else.

My faith in humanity is restored.
I love when people pay it forward.
    Kudos, dude.

Ooh, I love a good internet dog pile!

Yes, I sold Shawn a mint condition (professionally removed with less than 2000 miles) 2019 head unit. I posted it for sale at for a low price, he asked if I would ship in on my dime and if he could pay in two payments. I said sure.

I sent it off, he tried to install it, and can’t get it to work. He admits not all plugs are accounted for. So I suggested he ask the forum for guidance on install, as I know the unit was in excellent condition when it left my house, so assume it’s not installed correctly. He called me shady, wanted a refund. I suggested again he start a thread to see if it’s installed correctly. Someone above even suggested the same thing. Still no pictures and details of install.

There’s likely a simple solution, but Shawn went right to accusing me of intentionally ripping him off, and that doesn’t lend to me being super helpful.

And Shawn, I’ve done hundreds and hundreds of forum transactions over 20 years, including 5 here in the last few months, never an issue until now.

    Hhhmmmm......:gossip:
There's always two sides to every story, argument or disagreement. I started my questions with asking about the connections in the back and nothing was said about missing some connectors. Either way, hope everything gets worked out. I think OP needs to send us pics of the back of the radio and also of inside his truck radio connection area.
