Hi all. I'm trying to figure out what system might have been installed in my tundra. Previous owner took out all his speakers and amps or whatever was installed. Anyone know what i can do the wires look like a mess. 20180626_124031.jpg 20180626_123917.jpg 20180626_124031.jpg 20180626_123917.jpg 20180626_124003.jpg 20180626_123932.jpg 20180626_124035.jpg

    That sucks...
I hate when people do that when getting rid of a vehicle. I had to completely rewire all the audio in my 240sx because the PO did something similar.

Hopefully a wiring guru will chime in on this one.

Those Tesla style radios are pretty sweet.
The speakers that were in there must've been decent considering the cut and run removal!

I bet someone here has all their stereo stuff after swapping it out. Although this is a good time for a full system build

Shipping from Cali. It comes attached with the square bezel that was also replaced there.

Looks like you might have the original connecters for the back. Might just need to replace some wires and speakers.

I have a suspicion that the wires for headunit and hopefully the amp are there, but after that I bet the previous owner ran all new speak wire. If that's the case the OP will likely be better off running an aftermarket head unit and amp with new wire to new speakers.

Wow, what a hot mess. This is sad to see.

Are you going to go aftermarket, or try to replace with oem components? I would get some picture of the wiring behind where the head unit was, and pull that clump of wires under the carpet out, and lets see what we're working with.

I have a Phoenix android unit that I wanted to install. It looks like all the connections that were with the aftermarket head unit are still connected

That's good that the harness is intact, maybe if you swing into a junkyard you can grab a factory amp from another truck and just cut the wires (long) rather than unplugging it so you can match them color-to-color.

The door speakers should be easy to figure out because there should only be 2 wires to each speaker.

Might just take it to a stero shop it's a nightmare with wires. Anyone know what amp is good that I can install? Also, are the speakers in the back seat in the factory one too?

I haven’t quite figured that out yet, if you have a number you think is fair let me know...

In your situation it may be better to just go aftermarket since everything was already upgraded (and gutted)

I worked in car audio for quite some time, I recommend a 4 channel amp, Alpine, JL, ADS are my top choices, second would be Pioneer, Sony or Kenwood.

You may consider a 5 channel and drop a sub behind your seat... or you could do a 4 channel and a mono block for the sub.

Hit me up if you have questions

Isn't there a speaker that can be mounted on the back part of the seats? I saw it on ********* or something.

Yes, the factory has a sub behind the seat or you can get a JL Audio Stealth box. I have the oem sub box out of mine

The stealth box is pretty expensive. What if I get a subwoofer box and add speakers?

The stealthbox is amazing, but expensive.

email James at tech12volts, he will set you up. You can get the same speakers in a custom box for a couple hundred bucks less

Wow OP, the dude you bought they truck from really shredded the wiring. Take it to a good audio shop and get it re-wired. Do not let them splice and dice. Get new wiring so you have no audio/connectivity issues. It will cost you but you will be happier in the long run.

Yeah I'm just going to take it to a shop. Whoever owned the truck before should've at least put the old stuff back.
