When I get home I park in the garage and tend to leave my keys on the center arm rest. On numerous occasions I have heard the double beep but blew it off thinking maybe my wife hit her Highlander fob.
Today I was alone and the Tundra was the only vehicle home and my truck double beeped on its own while I was hanging out in the kitchen. What could this be? I was thinking possibly someone else was hitting theirs and my truck recognized it but I’m not sure that makes sense.
    Any ideas?

I’m wondering about the fact that you leave your keys in the truck. I assume you are taking the fob with you and locking the truck? If that is the case, maybe it’s possible your truck is recognizing the chip in the key and thinking they are still in the ignition and unlocking it. Try not leaving your keys in the truck.

I’ve only heard mine beep by itself when I unlock the doors but don’t open it, then 45 seconds later it will automatically lock itself and beep but only once. Does it happen all the time or randomly?

It is reminding you that your keys are in the truck.

First put your keys in the house.

    Troubleshoot from there

I do leave my key and fob in the truck while garaged. Not the best practice but I have an opener that throws a dead bolt through the track. The random beeps out of nowhere are stumping me.

I guess the next step would be to take your keys with you for a while to see if the random beeping stops.

I randomly get a double beep when locking my truck with the fob. I think it still did it randomly even after replacing the fob battery.

I have always left my key in the truck in the garage (in the small tray aft of the shift lever), never heard any beep as a result in 1 1/2 years.

Dan, that’s what makes me wonder what is up. I can’t imagine another vehicle in the neighborhood is able to blink my alarm system. I’ll call the dealer and see if they have any ideas.

Check your door sensors. Maybe it’s thinking you have a door open. Try setting the alarm(or locking ur truck) with a door open. I believe they usually double beep telling you something is open
