So I have been waiting for this TRD Pro since June 1st. Was scheduled to arrive June 8th-10th. Finally came in yesterday (15th). It came in at the end of the day and I had the dealer installing the tailgate remote lock. So there wasn't enough time in the day to get it installed and registered so I left it there overnight and took a loaner. Today some 'kid' crashed a Sienna into the front right bumper while it was in a bay.

I paid MSRP two weeks ago with a check that they already cashed. I just got off the phone with them. They said they would replace and paint the two new pieces by Friday, and offered me $1000. I countered with asking for only $500 but 8yr 100k bumper to bumper warranty.

I am shaking I am so mad and I feel like I am going to throw up. Any guidance here? The closest non-demo TRD White Pro I can find is 500 miles from me. And I haven't even called to seed if its still available.

If they accept your counter offer of the warranty I'd be stoked, they're not gonna report it to insurance so it won't affect resale so you're bueno.

I understand your anger but here is a thought. Have them get rid of the bumber, give you the foglights and install a c4 fab bumper or some upgrade. If that is not your liking i get it but this could be opportunity rather than a loss.

if you can get the 8 year warranty out of it then it's pretty good imo

Hell yeah i'd take the warranty. If not, its not a big deal. Just have them replace the two pieces and take the money for some upgrades.

I would be there when they pull the front bumper corner. Make sure nothing under there is damaged.

I agree with what everyone is saying.

The big question, were you planning to replace your front number or were you planning to leave it stock? If you are replacing it, I think it matters a little less just ensure you are happy with the deal. If you are wanting to keep the bumper, just ensure they get new pieces and don't try to repair the damaged ones.

    Sorry this happened to you.

I would use this situation to get as much as I possibly could from the dealership. Personally I would not jump from them to another dealer because that area of damage is so easily fixable/replaceable. Hell theres people on here sell bumper caps all the time. Get as much stuff as you can and turn lemons into lemonade.

That sucks, sorry man! I totally wouldn't be happy about that kind of damage on a truck I haven't even taken delivery of. As long as they replace the damaged pieces and don't just try to repair them, I'd be OK, especially if you get some cash and a warranty out of it. I know it sucks now, but a month from now you'll stop stressing over it and will be happy you got something out of it. I recently bought a brand new WaveRunner and the dealer scratched the hull while prepping it. It wasn't huge, but I pointed it out and they threw in a free cover for me, so I was happy. Enjoy your new Pro!

Ok, thanks for the responses. I am waiting on the call back from the guy. I think my counter offer was reasonable I am seeing 8yr 100k warranties for around 1000-2000. Since I offered 500 back I was realistically only asking for an extra 500-1000 and thats face value for the warranty, not what they pay.

I was planning on keeping the bumper stock. I am not a real off roader I just love the way the truck looks and how unique it is. But I am not a big modder I like to keep vehicles close to possible for resale. Ill likely end up with a 2023 TRD Pro or something of the sort. I also get alot of new cars because of the Section 179 tax breaks for my small business.

Another plus to this is that I am waiting on a couple of major things to get delivered. I already ordered Nitto Ridge Grappler 285-70/18s to be installed but they wont be here for another day or two. I also have a Truck Vault order coming in for a half bed box for my photography equipment that will take a few weeks, and I have no real rush, plus I have a loaner (Rav 4 ugh) so I am just saving miles.

Thanks for your words of encouragement everyone. When I get her done up I will share some pictures. I am a professional photographer after all so they should be pretty good.

It sucks that it happened, and I would have had my stomach in a knot over this also. But the good thing is that there does not seem to be actual body damage (sheet metal damage) both the bumper cover and filler panel are easily replaced and there should not be any evidence of this after it is repaired. I would say make sure you see the truck after the bumper cover is removed to confirm that there is no additional damage to the structures behind it. Other than that you should be good.
    Enjoy the truck!

Just so you know. I got the 8yr/100K warranty 2 weeks ago and paid $1155. I can send pics if you need. Don't let them tell you the warranty is too much. Because it's not.

My 2019 did come with locking tailgate. It works with the key fob. And, when the truck re-locks itself, the tailgate locks also.
Really hate what happened to the OP of this thread, that bites. But like my daddy use to say. "It will feel better, when it stops hurting".

oem color matched replacements pieces and warranty or oem color matched and the $1,000 but also agree to stay away from painted pieces if possible.

^This. Very common indeed. My brother-in-law has managed a dealer body shop For years and he’s always fixing up vehicles that either were damaged in shipment or on the lot. At least the dealer was honest and told you.

I think your offer is reasonable - they get warranties at cost so to them, I think the warranty + cash is a win-win for everyone.

Definitely require new parts. Painted parts will never be quite right and may fade and flake later on.

So they countered with covering the locking tailgate and labor which was around $300. And they gave me an 8 year 100,000 warranty. So not terrible. They said the parts will be in by Thursday and they would paint them and have them on the truck by Friday. How much longer would it take to get OEM parts that are already white?
