Hey guys I'm new to the forum, I am stumped on an issue with my tundra. Every time I shut the truck off the trips, both a and b, reset to zero. There are no oher issues and the oil change reminder is not affected. I'e checked fuses and can' find anything on the web, any ideas?

Get a OBDII checker and see if the readiness monitors are resetting at the same time. Scan it when you see the trip meters are reset, but before you start the engine. If the readiness monitors are reset, you may have a bad ECM. If they're OK, you probably have a bad instrument cluster (or at least the part that controls the trip meters).

Ok just an update, the readiness monitors don't seem to be reset my cheap little scanner just shows that they have been completed. I did finally replace my broken message center switch so I can finally see my avg mpg as well as range and current mpg. My avg mpg is resetting just like my trip a and b miles. I can't determine 100% if it's the ECU, is there any other part that could cause a full reset less than 30 seconds after key off?

STC - Did you ever figure it out? This is happening to my 2015 1794. Both a and b are resetting and my driver's memory seat is acting up.

Could it be a bad ground on your battery ? Just a thought

It's fixed! Found the post below from another Tundra forum....

OK, here is something weird to try.
Replace three fuses in the front fuse box under the hood. Replace them even if they look good. All these fuses feed the combination meter one way or another.
    1) IG = 10 amp
    2) MET = 7.5 amp
    3) MET-B = 7.5 amp

So this fixed my issue after a year of giving up lol. Ended up being a popped MET-B fuse. Mine was a 5amp fuse though notna 7.5. If it pops again I'll try a 7.5.

Yes that is the problem. Had I been a member back then and know what I know now I could have easily answered this way back when.

The 2007 wiring diagram list the MET-B fuse as a 5A. It is the battery power fuse into the instrument cluster. Its only reason is to retain memory in the cluster when the key is off. Similar to how radios save preset radio stations.

With this fuse bad, your cluster is fully losing battery power when the key goes off and forgetting all trip and MPG data.
