I want to start adding mods to my 2020 Black Pro but nothing to expensive that puts me in the doghouse with the wife. So far I have added the Gator pro soft roll up tonneau cover and tinted all the windows to 15%. Nothing special done so far but I am also looking into portable blu-ray players for the kids in the back for our beach trips and other long excursions.
    Any other suggestions?
    Thanks!IMG-1800.jpg

Personally, if I had a PRO I would upgrade the floor mats, tires and possibly wheels due to their wimpy stance. People love those wheels and rightfully so but the offset is still weak. Then maybe upgrade the sound system because Toyota seems to want to continue to put crappy sound gear in the Tundra. Then I would be done. I would drive the hell out of it!

I can’t think of a ton of stuff to do to a Pro other than the interior chrome delete like @Maadcaap mentioned. Console organizers are quick and cheap, along with interior LED lamps.
Only other thing I’d really think to do would be an audio upgrade, but that’s almost definitely going to exceed the doghouse budget.
I don’t see a lot of need for a blue ray player, since it’s really just easier to use a tablet, which most people have already. We have an OEM tv in our Sequoia. Don’t know if it’s dvd or blu-ray since we’ve never even turned it on.

Yeah, a good bit of the upgrades we all do are already on the Pro. (Grill, blackout emblems, headlights, etc.)

Yep, I did all of those plus an expensive suspension upgrade. The PRO should be a walk in the park.

Thanks everyone. I did want to do the chrome delete package for sure but I wasn't sure which brand to use. Thanks for that. I have heard to upgrade the mates to Husky, and try and upgrade the terrible sounds system.....but that will put me over the budget....for now at least. I like the wheels so i don't want to remove them and I do want to do something with the lights but what? Just black them out?

    Curse you Perry the Platypus!
Ain't gonna lie, if I had a PRO then all I would do is put some black nerf bars on it, slap in a TRD air filter and call it a day. Those are damn fine trucks straight from the factory.

The black predator steps came with it and I was considering putting in a air filter in the future....I wasnt sure if it was worth it.

2"CB shackles, bushings and 1 shim, lockerdown console vault, rear folding seat back mod, snugtop shell with opening side windows, 46g fuel tank, SDHQ sliders and hidden winch, Decked Drawers, Alcan leaf springs and got rid of the interior chrome
The driver side grab handle is a nice addition for about $150.00. A locking console safe is pretty useful for a lot of us.

Thanks for the idea PomDad but I really wanted them to be mobile so we can use them in our other vehicles. Plus I don't want to do any drilling or mounting inside the truck.
Looking at these on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07DJ1HNJR/ref=ox_sc_saved_title_4?smid=A2Y5PC8EFDTORS&psc=1

BTBaker, what size tires do you put on yours?

I think the TRD Pro headlights are the best looking ones on the market. I added them to my last Tundra. You could always tint them of you want them darker. That said, if you do change them you should be able to sell them for a decent amount.

Tail Lights are a bit tougher. I have the Winjets on my 2017. They look awesome, but QC seems to be inconsistent. I’ve had mine on for 3 1/2 years with no issues, but plenty of others have had problems. I haven’t decided on what I’m going to do with my 2021 Tundra yet.

AJT Blackout Kit 1.25" Wheel Spacers NRG 285/70/18 Meso Customs TRD Start Button
AJT is the way to go and an easy weekend project that will run you about $150. I have a 20 pro and the only thing I'm doing is a sound system upgrade, threw some 1.25 spacers ($200) on the wheels because I love the rims. Aside from that the only thing left is a leveling kit ($400) and some new shoes once they need to be replaced.

    Hope that list helps

Check the build link in my signature.
Technically you’re both right. The front is lifted 2”, which makes it leveled.

And I must be the only person who thinks the factory mats don’t suck. At least not enough to bother spending Mod money to replace them before they wear out. I’m also not an audiophile - I can make the stereo work until I’ve got all my other wish lists checked off.

For ME - first mod would be G-Tek door sill protectors to save my door sill edges. Something to organize the console. Interior LED lights (the FyreFlys ones don’t break the bank and I had them in my 2008 for 10 years without issue).

Then a spray-in bedliner if you don’t have it from the factory.

Then tires... which aren’t cheap unless you can unload your factory take offs to help offset it. I needed some 3Peak rated tires for the winter trips to the mountain, so that was an easy sell for me. The Falken Wildpeaks were $230/ea out the door, which is WAY less than KO2s or Duratracs, and have been a great tire in a wide range of conditions so far.

Then you start getting into more expensive and complicated stuff.

Hit my build thread (in my signature) if you want to see each mod I’ve done in order... just to get an idea of the progression of a “conservative build”.

All terrain tires, drivers side grab handle, and TRD rear sway bar. My wife didnt like the Predator side steps so I replaced them with Go Rhino RB20 side steps and the family loves them.

Why did she not like the predator steps? I’m going to contact my dealer since my tundra pro is not built yet. See if I can stop them from adding the predator steps. I have the Tyger steps in my 4runner pro now and there awesome. They work really well.

Sparks sells the the driver side grab handle. I plan on adding that to my tundra pro. I assume it should fit the 2021’s. It’s says only to 2020. There should be no difference unless someone knows something.

For everyone getting in and out of the car it required too much thought and attention. Each door has around maybe a 1 foot platform to put your foot on. With my RB20s for example, I have the full length of the running boards to plant my feet. I can actually clean the top of my truck now with doors closed. With the predator steps, I have to open the doors to be stable be stable enough on the predator platforms to reach the roof of my truck. My size 15 feet thanks the newer side steps.
