I wanted to get some opinions on which grilles you guys prefer on the Tundra. I have been thinking about getting the TRD Pro grille for my Platinum Tundra.

I like the pro but it is stupid expensive to swap on the 2020 due to having to mess with the TSS radar. There are some Chinese replacements that are cheaper they have mixed reviews.

I agree with this. I also think that Tacomas trd pro is designed much better - letters are in the middle and well proportioned.

I switched from the honeycomb Sport grill to the PRO grill and couldn't be happier.
My grill is from MC Auto, no issues or complaints.

I have the Ares customs cover plate. It’s 80 bucks versus the 30 dollar Chinese ones but it’s good quality and looks better than OEM IMO (this picture has it stand out quite a bit but most of the time it blends in extremely well)

I've had the PRO insert on mine for awhile, I just switched it out with the 2021 Nightshade insert. Now I've got a gloss black overlay waiting to go over my stock TRD Sport honeycomb grille. I like variety

I’m probably in the minority, but the honeycomb w/ chrome surround was one of the things that lead to me buying the SR5 over the limited, so I prefer the honey comb!

How much did the Nightshade grill set you back, if you don't mind me asking. I like the looks of it.

I prefer the pro grille. The pizza sized Toyota logo is a real eye sore on the honey comb imo. My pro grille from sparks is finally being delivered today that I ordered on Black Friday.

Where did you buy the Ares TSS cover plate? Did a search and didn't find anything about it.

Just search "ares customs tundra". I tried to link the site but the forum here wouldn't let me.

yeah he's a small operation, used to have an account on here a couple years ago but left after not doing good business. However, myself and everyone else I've heard ordering one lately has had nothing but good customer service. I even had an address problem and he quickly reshipped another to me.

Honeycomb for sure. I had to buy the pro one for the color matched surround. Regardless of TSS, the honeycomb is better than having “Toyota” spelled across it.

I much prefer the honeycomb over the current Pro grille.

That TSS plate on the current pro grille stands out like a sore thumb every time I see it. It doesn't remotely blend into the grille. Looks like a poorly designed afterthought to me. The fact that it's almost always accompanied by that hood scoop doesn't help :puke:

The previous Pro grille on the other hand is my favorite.

I think it looks good with the factory Platinum grill. It just matches.

In my opinion, the Pro grill only looks good on a TRD Pro because it matches the aggressive Baja styling. The Platinum is a more street style.

I'd say to start by getting a grille emblem overlay from @rrentrop at TVD. It's cheap and I think it drastically changed the look of the none Pro grille. If you still don't like your grille after that, go pro. The overlay saved me a bunch of money and I love my non Pro grille now

Recently switched my honeycomb grill from 2019 TRD Sport to the MC Auto Pro Grill, install was very straight forward and everything appears to be working normally over the course of a few weeks. On a black truck, the Pro grill looks much better in my opinion, the grey honeycomb always drove me a bit crazy.

Did this come with the garnish piece also? No issues with the TSS? Seems like it’s hit or miss with the aftermarket garnish pieces.

I prefer the TRD Pro grille and so that's what I have. Now that there is a knockoff version for half the cost w/ garnish, I expect to start seeing it everywhere and my love for the grille may decrease as a result.

TVD stopped making/selling the emblem vinyl due to Toyota asking him to.
It comes with everything, I have it as well and very happy with it. No issues with my TSS.
