I thought I would do a short write up for anyone wanting to install a 40" Light bar in the TRD Pro grill. If you don't mind cutting out the lower opening section of your grill it's a very clean look when done right. I chose to install a 40" Rigid Radiance light for mine. I like the features of having a low light backlight and the main spot lights on the radiance lights. You should be able to use another brand of light if the measurements are the same though. This install is fairly simple and you only need to use two 2" long bolts, spacers, locking washers and center bracket to stiffen the light for the light. You will also need to have a relay, fuse holder and a switch. If you chose the radiance light they sell a special harness separately for their light since it has two switches. IMG_4870.jpg
    Before the light was installed.

I went ahead and just used stainless washers for spacers on mine. This way I could keep adding shims to raise my light to the right height for the grill. If you look at the bracket in the photo you can see I notched mine a little bit. This is to help the grill surround sit tighter against the light. I trimmed the grill surround at least five times to make sure it fit very tight. It's easier to trim a little at a time and not have to mess up the grill.

In the middle of the light bar you will need to install a bracket to stiffen up the light. I used a short self taper on the light bar itself and made sure it went into a fin only and not into the light housing. I will probably change out the back self taper to a bolt with a locking washer. This part of the light bracket is not visible after you install the surround. I did use all Aluminum and stainless parts to avoid rust. IMG_4936.jpg
Here is the blue backlight after being installed. The blue is definitely not street legal! Lol. I just wanted it to match my wheels and the rest of my build.

The one thing I still need to do on mine is shorten up the center bracket support. My spot light is shooting the light to low at the moment. This will re focus the light up higher and put farther in front when I'm off-road.

We are currently running our promo still for ours. Buy the Baja Designs bar, get the mounts free. We have 2 bars left. There may or may not be a certain day of the year coming up where stuff is also on sale.

I soldiered the wires from the light bar and ran them between the bed of the truck and cab and then along the underside frame into the engine compartment. Inside the engine compartment I have a 100 amp central fuse block off of my battery so I can run all my individual fuses for my lights. Then I ran each individual light control wire to a relay and then the wires from the relay run inside the truck to my switches. If you just want a single light or two you can just purchase a wire harness with the fuse, relay and switch. I made my own wiring harnesses since I'm running so many various lights and controls. I hope this answers your question.

    What's Google search?

    *wank motion*

Already was on Rough country's site, buck. No indication on their 30" single row led bar that it was designed to fit in a 2014 tundra bumper. And since you said you already ordered it "for that spot", I thought you'd be able to share a link or post a pic of yours installed.

But be a knob instead. It's a good look.

The 40" light in the TRD pro grill is a Rigid Radiance light. All the radiance lights have a back light in either blue, green, red, amber or white and then they also have the main spot lights. So you can have two functions to your light. If you want you can legally run white or amber facing the front of the truck and red facing the rear of the truck.
