I am in southern CA, everyone is putting a 5K market adjustment.... what is everyone else seeing?

thinking may just do crew max 4x4 SR5 with Trd off-road plus package.

I can't find a Pro anywhere near me, and very limited stock on any Tundra. KBB now says the private party value for my 2019 with 30k on the clock is worth 49k. I paid 47k for it brand new.
I'm guessing until inventory is back to what it was pre-covid, we're going to pay a premium.

I’ve got time to wait... just want to grab a V8 before they are all gone.

I got one dealer as low as 5K above sticker. All tundras seem to be in white right now

I had a hell of a time finding any dealer in socal selling a Pro for below MSRP when I began my search last year. I gave up and then decided to expand my search radius. Only two dealerships discounted the Pro. Earnhardt Toyota in Mesa AZ and Thompson's in Placerville CA. Once I verified the price I flew to Placerville and drove my Pro home. The cost of the plane ticket and fuel was still worth it. The discount off MSRP was about $2900. Dealerships in socal will just laugh at you if you ask for anything below MSRP. So try to expand your search if you can.

I would not pay any market adjustment for a pro. Just helped a friend buy land cruiser heritage edition and was originally told there is no way we would get it for msrp. Ended up closing the deal 2k under msrp so it can be done just takes some haggle

Do not negotiate with a trade in keep that out of the deal until the purchase price is settled.

Have you checked Car Gurus? I bought mine in September. I was looking for mine in White and from researching Car Gurus, I think I found a total of 13 in the United States and was getting up at 4:30 on a Saturday to drive from Dallas to San Antonio to pick one up when I found one that was delivered the day before and ended up getting it for Market about 2 1/2 hours away.

I found one $1,600 above sticker. After working numbers, thinking that platinum at 6K less is better option. Just add exhaust and suspension down the road... still less expensive? Thoughts?

Yes, that's the route I went. Got the platinum and did suspension/wheels/tires front grill, etc. Comes out to same price as trd pro, but you have all the extras that come with the platinum.

    Lots of shenanigans.
The lowest that I could get a 2020 Tundra TRD PRO was 53500 before TTF. I was working 3-5 different dealerships around the US to compete against each other and most of them only moved a few hundred bucks. Most of them are selling above MSRP.

Just reserved my 21 for MSRP. When I bought my 19 Pro it was in September and they had 20s on the lot, I got 2k off that one.

I was able to find one at sticker, but they also had a platinum coming in. Has them add the exhaust , wheels and tires to that... should be here in 4-6 weeks!

Exhaust, suspension together are 1100 and 3000 parts. Then there's the hood scoop (700 w/o paint or install), the bedsides (600ea unpainted), the skid (450), The grille (500), fogs (700), wheels (1800). Even if you dont keep those parts, like the wheels and fogs you can sell them have the money back in your pocket when you buy the cheaper stuff off the platinum or any other model.

I tried to build a double cab and consider adding parts to make it comparable to the pro because I wanted a Cement colored DC with all the pro stuff. The end cost was about 2k cheaper than the CM Pro, if I changed the CM to DC on the pro the cost was basically the same, actually less after selling parts like the wheels. If the parts on the Pro arent things you want then yeah its cheaper to go just about any other model. But if you buy a model and want the Pro parts it gets hard to save in the end, especially if you dont do the work yourself.

Also Pros have a crazy used market value, not talking KBB here, actual market value. My totaled Pro payout was 10k more than I paid for it.

Inventory is low, hopefully everything gets back up to normal supply.

On average Toyota typically goes 2-3.5K under sticker, but nobody seems to be doing invoice pricing now.

2021’s will be in short supply with plant closures...

Unless something changed recently the plants are open and moving. They closed for a month or two in March or so. Then had reduced crews. Not sure about staffing now but they’ve been open for a while.

    *edit

they closed for 7 weeks and reopened in may, still open.

Typically only finding 2-3 Tundras on the lots. Maybe end of October they’ll be back to old supply

Paid basically msrp in august for my super white pro. They seem to fly out the door. Saw my dealership had an army green and a black recently, both gone in under a week.

I did a ton of price shopping when I was making my decision and found it ran the gamut of pricing (most of Colorado). Found 4 dealers who would sell at MSRP, several who where $5k over, and a few who where $10k over. Of course the dealers at MSRP where out of stock and had a waiting list. The dealers over MSRP had some stock available but I sure wasn’t going to pay more than MSRP. Ended up getting lucky when someone backed out a week before it showed up. I even had a hard time paying MSRP since it’s the first time I’ve ever not paid below MSRP (this is my 10th new car in the last 10 years). Ended up at $54,645 + tax. No DOC or handling fee. All things considering, I’m very happy with the deal I got.

There are deals to be had but it will be a cold day in hell before I pay “market adjustment” on a new car.

For anyone in the Midwest - Deery Toyota in Waterloo Iowa gave me a rate Dec '19 for my '20 CM that two dozen other dealerships in the country wouldn't even match, let alone beat. I would HIGHLY recommend reaching out to those guys for a quote.

I'm also from socal- I was looking for a pro and all I could find around me was white ones for 10k over MSRP. From my experience you have to fly out to get one for anything close to MSRP.

I have family in Portland OR so I was able to find my lunar in Warrenton OR for $600 below MSRP. I put a deposit and flew in to pick it up and visited them. The flight there and gas back home was like $450 so not too bad.
