Whats the ballpark price the dealership will charge for a trd cold air intake installed on my 2017 5.7 crewmax?

A lot of people on here we'll already tell you that you already have a cold air intake don't spend the money on it... As far as install it's pretty much easy look up some YouTube videos save yourself some money

The only reason I was going to let the stealership do the work was because I have some Toyota bucks to spend ..

I'm a brand new Toyota guy so I'll have to look closer under the hood.

As others have suggested, you've already got a CAI. The TRD flavored one does look pretty sweet, but you won't really gain much from it other than looks (but your hood is closed 99.9999% of the life of the truck).

I understand you have some Toyota funny money, but I'd put it towards something else you don't have but want. Tonneau? Bedliner? Door sill protectors? Heated/cooled Leather seats? TRD shift knob? Bed LED lights?

CAI is useless. Use it towards something you actually need like PermaFrostTRD said. The dealership will charge waaaaay too much for something you can install in an hour or so.

Personally I do like the sound it makes and I did see small gain in MPG after getting both TRD intake and exhaust. Now with larger tires, any gain has been wiped clean, haha.

Here are couple of dyno's I found on the TRD exhaust and the TRD intake. The first is on the exhaust and second on the intake. Even though it's small, there is a gain across the board for both.

I have just the trd exhaust on my truck and dont claim any gain for mpg or feel.
Im just guessing as i never dynod my truck before / after but am pretty sure the exhaust moved some of the power in higher rpm ranges. But i bought it for the looks and grown up sound. Those dyno graphs do show a gain at higher rpm (above 3750 rpm).
But my truck spends most of its life 1500-2000 rpm so the gains do not appeal to me. Stock our trucks put max torque at 3600 rpm so im more interested in what's happening in the lower rpm ranges. Why cant we get graphs from idle and up? I don't know, maybe someone knows and could explain why. Guessing the dyno cant read correctly?.

No, the dyno can read it just fine. It's because you loose HP and torque at lower RPMs. That's why the graphs are chopped. It's a marketing trick.
CAI are a waste of money because the vast majority of your truck's life is going to be spent under 3500 RPM where you will never realize the gains.

You may want to take a look at the TRD Sway Bar. Nearly everyone who has one said it made a difference.

I was doubtful at first but am now convinced, in part because of the abbreviated dyno chart, that the trd exhaust gives up very real tq at lower rpm.

I am not into racing, but from what I read, dyno charts starting from higher rpm has to do with the difference between cruising rpm and wot rpm. When you press your acceleration at wot, shift point becomes higher, and so does the average rpm. When I cruise, my rpm stays around 2000 (under). But when I accelerate hard, after the first gear, the rpm doesn't even come close to 2000 rpm.

Dyno charts in general gives high RPM values, not just the above charts.

As far as my butt-dyno is concerned, I can't tell any increase in power. Neither can I feel any decrease in the low end torque. But I do like the sound it makes.

You have to go through the lower rpm to get to the higher rpm. Torque from idle to 2800 or so is what you feel every time you drive, even under mild throttle use.

Dyno charts typically show the entire range, not just one section for just this reason. There are often trade offs. A chart showing upper rpm only gives insight into improvements at speed passing ability but leaves stoplight to stoplight performance changes hidden.

I had an H pipe welded into mine to recover the lost low end torque and keep the high end HP. The good thing is it lost that helicopter thump at 55 mph. The bad is that it now sounds more like a stock exhaust.
