I recently picked up a tundra TRD big brake kit (the 2007+ version with the 16” rotors)

I had plans to use it on another vehicle but the rotor appears to be unusable for my application (bolt pattern is way too big to even match the 8 lug lol)

I have the calipers and rotors.

    what do these go for?

    That might be mine.

I haven’t seen another kit for sale so I figured 800 less than new might be worth it to someone.

And it seems any lower and I get a storm of low ballers haha.

    Thank you!

I think 20+” the rotors are 16” so with the caliper def 17.5” clearance minimum

    I wouldn’t doubt they’d clear stock 20” wheels.

Need to find a home for these i feel it would be a shame to scrap the rotors and use the calipers on something else.

    Curious..
When you "recently picked them up..." Didn't you pay for them? If not, how "used" are they? They don't look at all clean, so you can expect lowballers. Unless you provide details of their past life, it will be a tough sell. Those of us actually interested in them will feel fine about giving a fair price for them. If they look worth it, they will command that price. I wouldn't pay $1400 either, and nowhere near $800 off new. These are used brakes... That look VERY USED. You would be lucky to get $1K for them IMO. When I saw this thread I got excited, and then I saw the pics. Just an opinion because I'm in the market for them.

So you’re trying to talk it down so the price goes lower haha.

    Thank you for the input!

How are the rotors? The calipers look pretty beat so I am assuming the rotors are not very new either.

They have a lot of meat left.
Looks like this thing was hardly used before ending up in the wrecker.

The calipers have paint flaws but are not in bad shape overall.

Typically it’s not recommended to run any calipers without rebuilding them so I would assume whoever I sold em to would do that. Also the nice part is you can powder coat whatever color matches your truck best.

    Yeah I do.
Debating on hanging onto the calipers in case I pick up something I can repurpose them on.

Figure 1200 or so for a used trd bbk.you should have the 2 braided brake hoses and the 4 special caliper mounting also.
The pads are fairly aggressive and usually wear the rotors down a fair bit.shape of rotors will influence pricing a bunch.
Calipers are pretty bulletproof and rebuilding them is easy and cheap parts wise.

Yeah, I believe based on their st60 line with tweaks.

The rotors don’t look to be in bad shape but if I repurpose the calipers I’ll just scrap the rotors.

    Revising an old thread.

I noticed that TRD Big Brake Kit looks very similar to Stoptech. The calipers look identical, Does Stoptech make the TRD BBK?

One more question, Is it worth the money to by Stop Tech? Power Stop seems to have good reviews.

I was debating this when I was getting ready to do my brakes. Needed new pads and rotors and the powerstop z36 kit was cheap and generally good reviews. But upon further research/reading, a lot of people report rotors warping after 5-10k miles. I decided to use oem Toyota rotors since there's many owners who use them to 70k, 80k miles. Went with TRD brake pads for a little extra bite. So far I am pleased with the setup but there is a lot of brake dust. A big brake kit is nice to have but the stock brakes are good enough for a 381 hp Sequoia. If I was supercharging my Sequoia for over 500hp, then I will look into more stopping power. But right now, stock rotors are good enough.

'is it worth it' i think it depends on your application. if you're towing heavy a lot for example it would be worth it imo to get the bbk but a lot of peeps seem to manage without. for me, i'm boosted so getting to speed quickly i wanted to be able to stop fast as well. my oems took me to 82k and always wanted the bbk since i bought the truck new in 08 so for those reasons its worth it to me. and so damn sexy.

note: they're performance brakes so there's a little bit of a squeak when they're cold.

I went with the Black Hart kit (drilled n slotted) for my Tundra since it was $300 i regret on a couple things one not going for the stop tech kit since i found out i need calipers and after the added cost that it equaled to stop tech price. Did get the weird plate rubbing after install and had to bend back the plates. Any more no issue other than poor brake performance when cold. So when i leave i just accelerate heavy n get into the brakes hard at my first stop or slow down to get the brakes warm. Seems to work every time. I do how ever at some point would love to get TRD brake kit since its a OEM plus kinda deal

Just to clear things up a bit... the BBK will not increase stopping power on its own. It will, however increase resistance to heat and thus fading during heavy use conditions which is very beneficial in towing situations (and track driving if that's a big Tundra activity).

What WILL increase stopping power is a more aggressive brake pad compound, which can be achieved on the stock calipers, and even more options are available for the Stoptech/TRD caliper. Fresh brake fluid helps here too.

Do you know if these TRD BBK are the StopTech ST-65 or ST-60? Both look identical. Also, do you know where a person can get the seal rebuild kit, every place I look is either discontinued or sold-out? I need to rebuild mine as I started getting the creak every time I apply the brakes... I need to get the rotors turned as well (hope there is enough meat) I was thinking if I could find the seal kit I'd rebuild them myself. Is it pretty easy to rebuild or should I have a race shop do it?

    Thanks all

i hear you man and the technical assessment but i can tell you IRL i'm definitely feeling a stronger bite and faster stop for the same pressure i used to apply. drove the truck on stock calipers for 12yrs so have a good feel for changes. i would imagine that the bbk brake pad compound is not the same as stock.
