    Hey everyone,

    Still trying to solve my shudder at 20mph.

    Wondering if anyone knows the angle of their transfer case? Right where the rear shaft bolts on.

    Mine is 4 degrees so I’m wondering if my transmission mount is worn and causing this like the tsb fix for the tacomas

    Or does anyone know how much play should be in the mount. The Center part that goes into the crossmember I can move up and down a little bit by pushing up on the transmission

    I found out my transfer case is at the right angle. Does anyone know their rear pinion angle with 2” blocks? Mine is at 0 degrees. I think Toyota dealer installed the blocks backwards and that’s where my vibrations are coming from. Could that be the cause?

    Not a big job to turn them around and try. Should I get new u bolts? Or can I reuse these ones?

    technically you are supposed to get new U bolts. but if it was me I would just reuse them

    Make you you check torque on them every 50 miles until they stop turning.

    Just hate to buy new u bolts if the vibration is still there lol. Took out the rear shaft and drive in 4wd and zero vibrations. Shaft was balanced and made sure it was straight. New carrier bearing and Center u joint. Both u joints on the end are tight and smooth. Running out of options lol

    Like I said, I would just reuse the old U Bolts.

    Sounds to me like the lift blocks are the problem. You can also try a carrier bearing spacer

    I have tried carrier bearing spacers of different sizes and the vibration gets worse and stays at higher speeds. Stock carrier bearing height its only until 60 as a vibration and the shudder is at 20 mph

    take the lift block out and see if it goes away. If it does then you know your problem. then re-install them the other way around

    I measured the blocks. The large part of the block is facing the front of the truck. Looks like they are in backwards.

    Question: if I load the back of the truck and compress the springs 2+ inches, would that be a way to test if it’s the pinion angle causing the problem?

    -6" RCD lift in front. -Custom leaf springs in rear 4" lift. -17" race line, raptor wheels. -35" Goodyear Duratrac. -4.88 gears. -ARB rear air locker. -ARB air compressor and tank. -Custom front sway bar quick disconnect -Custom one piece driveshaft -Black Oak Led 40 watt ditch lights.
    Your pinion angle needs to be within 1 degree between your working angles. So if your transfer case is at 4 degrees and your axles at 0 you need to get a four degree pinion angle shim.

    I would think the opposite. Wouldn’t that tilt it down making it an even steeper driveline angle?

    I’ve been thinking about it all wrong. I was picturing axle over leaf.
