Anyone have experience with or know for sure if leaving the transmission cooler line thermostat in the open position is detrimental to the transmission components?

I installed Genuine Cooling Systems kit yesterday and left the thermostat in the open position.

Ambient temps now are in the 50’s and 60’s at night, mid to high eighties during the day. In a few weeks it should be in the 90’s to low 100’s during the day.

Using Toyota ATF WS for now. Doing AMSOIL flush in the future. Truck has a tad under 12k miles and I tow frequently.

Pinning it open takes the thermostat out of the equation. I wanted mine to operate as designed with the thermostat opening around 190°-195°F.

I’ll be swapping to Amsoil as well.

I was wondering what the operating temps were. Now I know. Thanks.

BTW, what’s 21 AG CM OR?

Nice. The army green are rare in my neck of the woods.
